I’ve been on a bit of an anti-woman kick in my writing (see here and here)—not because I actually hate women (I am one), but because I’ve been dealing with a lot of awful women in recent weeks. One such exchange comes to mind, and there’s a point in it I’d like to make.
Every summer, I buy a pool membership pass at a local country club because it allows me some suntanning time, and my 8-year-old logs lots of swimming hours. But let me be clear: This is not some fancy-schmancy club—snobby people are not my people.
The club simply has a high enough dollar amount to keep out undesirable demographics, but it’s nothing special. In fact, it’s really quite dumpy compared to other country clubs I’ve been to in my life. (I grew up spending a few weeks of every summer in the Midwest, swimming and playing at a very nice country club on Lake Mendota, right across the way from the Capitol building in Madison, which my Grandpa Sam had founded.)
Anyway, earlier this week, I had a girlfriend join me for some pool time at the local club, as the season is about to end. Since she’s not a member, she simply pays a guest fee each time she goes—she’s been coming throughout the summer because we have other mutual friends who are also members.
The pool was entirely empty, so we had the whole place to ourselves…and then the pool manager, who had been glaring at us from the window upstairs, came down to make sure we paid our $7 guest fee (one that my friend has always paid).

I am sad to say that I agree. It has shined a spotlight on the acceptance of the insanity.
It is just the result of a verbal tick i have.
There was a study that showed women, on average, took twice as long to exit a parking space if there was someone waiting for the space than when no one was there.

Ha! We have this woman in a managerial/approval role in our large gated community. For one example, we know someone that had to go thru three shades of white for their trim before they could get approval for repainting their house. Others just ignore the whole approval process and just do it, and it’s generally not noticed.
There is nothing worse than a simpleton with a little bit of “power.”
When I was in military college we used to have a nickname for these people: We called them “Pinheads.” They were insufferable trying to enforce every chickenshit rule.
Most people (not gender specific) would have recognized the member in this story. They would have checked off the number and verified that the guest paid the fee. Nothing wrong with that. Then wished everyone a great day.
An enterprising agent of the club would have suggested a membership next year as cheaper than all of these guest fees! “We would love to have you here all summer!”
Nothing is gained by being “bossy” in this situation.
This is the cultural next step after Democrat women have supported abortion later and later in pregnancy, even "post birth abortion" (what a contradiction in terms). One thing I've noticed over the years -- the most vocal pro-lifers tend to be women.

If this jury was made up of 9 men and 3 women, the decision would have been made in an hour.

As my grandfather once said.”You will always encounter “miserabli” ( miserable people) and very often they have some sort of position of authority. Just the way it is.
Sounds like the writer is the ultimate Karen. Safety rules shouldn’t apply to her “The female who gleefully says “no” to the excited child who’s just a fraction “too short” for a meandering coaster” and that low level employees should ignore rules and regulations to accommodate her “ the opening employee at the DMV who stood in the heated entryway, smirking, and watched me shiver outside this past winter at 07:59:37 a.m. because, technically, the office isn’t open until 8:00:00”.
There’s a Karen in this story, and her name is Olivia.
