Ready for a mental workout? 🧠 A Cryptogram is a classic quotation puzzle frequently featured in daily publications. I source the best and most challenging ones to help keep our minds sharp and boost cognitive health!
In a Cryptogram, a single letter always stands for another letter.
(Example: AXYDLBAAXR might translate to LONGFELLOW. This is just an example and does not apply to today’s puzzle.)
If this is your first time, don’t be intimidated—the game is very addictive, and you will quickly master the technique! If you find yourself stumped, simply take a break and return to it later. ☕
Please follow these guidelines for the best experience for everyone:
Feel free to post a fun or clever clue—the more tangential to the quotation the better! Just remember that your clue must not contain the actual words of the solved quote.
Good luck, and enjoy the challenge! 🍀

When you want to help people, you tell them the truth. When you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear. -- Thomas Sowell

Then digital (circuit on/circuit off) transmission came along allowing the comms network to operate like a computer. A voice call could be converted to computer code, then transmitted so that many individual phone calls could be ganged up across a shared long distance circuit using so-called Voice over Internet Protocol or VoIP technology.
Then, as the speed of computer chips and CPUs mushroomed, comms network could also scale up to incredible speeds, thus creating the instantaneous web access we enjoy today.
One other interesting point: 99% of international internet traffic today is transmitted via undersea cables sitting at submarine crushing depths at the bottom of the ocean. And these undersea cables operate by transmitting NOT digital signals, but between 80 and 160 distinct "colors" (wavelengths of infrared light).
It is or it ain’t.
MSEE, concentration in communications, minor in computer science.
I have this on a t-shirt. Occasionally someone will chuckle and comment on it but, by and large, most folks don’t get it.
Thank you.
I used to have that quote displayed on my office door.
isn’t it kind of a wasted effort if you have to explain the punch line?
Not at all. Somebody might learn something and be gratified, others, amused.
