Democratic Communists Were Inevitable

Much of America is freaking out over the Marxist takeover of the Democratic Party, but for anyone who paid attention, this wasn't hard to foresee. It has been coming for generations.

Both Yogi Berra and the great physicist Niels Bohr are credited with saying that "predictions are hard, especially about the future." Currently, much of America is freaking out over the Marxist takeover of the Democratic Party, but for anyone who paid attention, this wasn't hard to foresee. It has been coming for generations. If the party elders had not bent the rules so ruthlessly, Bernie Sanders and his DSA gang would have taken over years ago. The establishment media has been loath to admit any of this was happening, so they have only recently reported it. But make no mistake, massive political realignment is coming for the Democrats.

For most of the 20th century, the Democrats presented a flexible liberal centrism that won a lot of elections and papered over the fractured nature of their coalition. This was in contrast to the Republican creed of limited government, the rule of law, and strong defense ideas, dating back to Lincoln himself.

The Democrats were seen as more nimble in the face of new challenges. But eventually they had no answers for the Cold War or the out-of-control inflation economy of the 1970s. Later Presidents like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were talented but facile, and left no lasting principles. The party of government only had one idea in the end -- more government -- and far-left activists became the only people bringing energy to the party.

This took a long time to sink in, however, because of old voting habits. Eventually people had to deal with current political trends. For decades, Michael Barone's “Almanac of American Politics” series charted this

May we toy with them until they’re finally banished?

The accretion of communism is demographic. The Institute of Social Research was planted at Teachers College. It takes time for those people to produce the number of students dedicated to overthrowing a pre-existing culture, and each of those could only tolerate so much deflection. Each of those cohorts produced new professors at other teachers colleges. Those teachers radicalized student populations which then fed back into the universities. It's a generational ratcheting effect.

It took 30 years for the schools to produce students ready to be radicalized by the likes of Herbert Marcuse. Not a few became professors, who raised the generation now in positions of academic power. For that mechanic to be so uniform took a lot of retirements.

The democRATs will not admit they are really communists.

It was obvious to most of us that the Democrats are communists at heart. Accepting that “you don’t say that out loud” was part of every Democrat party member’s DNA. In our present culture of in-your-face ignorance, that bit of common knowledge has been dispensed with. That’s it. The only thing that’s changed is that the Democrats no longer can scrape together the self-discipline to keep it on the down low.

Just theother day a guy was interviewing the 2nd in command of the US DSA. She (of course) would not specify any number associated with their goal of taxing the ‘Ell out of rich people, either what constitutes rich or what tax rate.
But, she did say that their goal is to seize the means of production.
These are not clowns pi$$ing about lying to the losers about being democratic socialists. They are communists. That is what all socialists have always been. No exceptions.

They’ve got one thing going for them. It’s the uncertainty AI will bring. They’ll tell us the sky is falling when it isn’t and they pounce whenever a new issue comes up to take advantage. Think Covid, the worst economy in the last 50 years, blame W for Katrina. Who on our side is willing to stand up for capitalism if AI costs them their jobs?

I put it slightly differently.

The Democrat Leadership can no longer enforce the discipline to keep it on the down low.

The younger, upcoming generation is no longer willing to and can't see any reason to not admit who they really are.

The recent trend to 'let it all hang out' of the Homos and the Trans has fed the zeitgeist to fly your flag proudly for Communist.

“Democratic Communists Were Inevitable”

Once Democrats sold out the Working Class, they had to go somewhere. So they looked and found a HUGE pool of College-Educated Women, and they had their mark!

This is the same crapola that was going on in the 60’s. DSA isn’t new. When I was in college we had the SDS ( students for a democratic society) they were the same creepy, greasy losers we see on TV today protesting.

Nothing is new it just gets re-cycled.

What is the difference between democRATs and CPUSA?

These days the CPUSA are mere hangers on of the Democrats and primarily a social club for gender-specials.

The current year CPUSA is of no political importance whatever. The hard core commie types are now in the DSA.

Like George Galloway says about our two party system that has evolved into; “you kiss both cheeks of the same ass”.

Right. Great point. And the Weather Underground, and the Yippies, and the Symbionese Liberation Army, and numerous other communist front groups, some or most of which were funded by Soviet intelligence services.

Europe had them too. The Baader-Meinhof gang, the Red Army Faction, and numerous others.

Old wine in new bottles. Dressed up for clickbait. Ho hum.

But now the main-stream Democrat party has dropped the mask. That's new. It was always wink-wink, nod-nod. Now it's out in the open and parading around on stage, a parade of popinjays.

I am not sure how you mean that.

Sure they are idiots but are they useful for the Democrats?

Maybe they can raise money in certain sectors, but they probably can't win many elections.

Or do you mean they are useful for us in that they will drive voters from the center to the Right?

Once you start normalizing radical economic ideas and open borders while ignoring crime and cultural cohesion, you end up with the hard left filling the vacuum.

The Democratic Party’s shift wasn’t an accident — it was the logical endpoint of years of compromise with extremists.

The communist movement within the Democrat party got a huge boost in 2016 with the candidacy of Bernie Sanders. It has grown stronger every year since then.
