Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly rejected President Donald Trump’s 15-point Gaza peace plan on Sunday, declaring that Israeli forces will not withdraw from the territory until Hamas has been “genuinely” disarmed.
“Israel rejects the 15-point document,” Netanyahu told a cabinet meeting, dealing another setback to the U.S.-backed effort to end the war in Gaza.

The Israeli military “will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed and will continue to thwart threats against our forces and our citizens,” Netanyahu added.
In a post accompanying a clip of the formal announcement posted Monday, the Israeli leader wrote: “As long as I am Prime Minister, a Palestinian state will not arise – not in Gaza and not in the West Bank. Not Fatahstan and not Hamasstan.”
Netanyahu told his cabinet talks with U.S. officials were continuing despite his rejection of the document: “They have ideas; some of them are acceptable to us and some are not, and we know how to stand our ground on these matters,” he said.
Trump’s Board of Peace announced last month that an agreement had been reached for the “complete disarmament” of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza in what Trump hailed as a “monumental step toward lasting peace and security.”
Hamas has said surrendering its heavy weapons depends on Israel ending “all forms of aggression” and withdrawing its forces from the territory.
The competing demands have left the Trump administration’s plan facing a fundamental dispute over which side must act first.
Meanwhile, a Hamas official said Sunday that the group “reaffirms its commitment” to the agreement and was prepared “to engage seriously and responsibly in implementing” the 15-point proposal, according to the BBC. The official called on mediators to ensure “all parties” complied.
Nickolay Mladenov, the Board of Peace’s high representative for Gaza, defended the proposal on Sunday, saying Israel had been asked “to give the process a chance” and describing it as “the only way forward”.
Mladenov said the process was designed to be “verifiable” and “reversible,” and stressed that Israel would not be required to withdraw until Hamas could be verified as taking steps toward disarmament.

(By the way, I'd forgotten that there's a thing called the Board of Peace. What the hell it's supposed to accomplish alludes me, since it's clearly just a cheerleading organization that serves to rubberstamp US policy.)

Netanyahu is right to not accede to this plan which amounts to a surrender to an enemy that wants to obliterate you. Making “peace deals” with Muslims who want you dead is a waste of time.

Well, this is Israel’s war for its own security, not ours. They’re well within their rights not to accept a plan if they don’t like it.
No. The difference is that Israel is demanding that Hamas be disarmed before Israel will withdraw. Trump's plan has Hamas disarming after Israel withdraws. Obviously, Israel believes that Hamas won't actually disarm after an Israeli withdrawal.

The war that he incited isn’t going well? Are you kidding? 3000 of his people were murdered, raped, tortured, etc., the perpetrators were working madly to develop a nuke to destroy his country. Just what in the hell would do? We lost 3000 on September 11 and spent a hell of a lot more money and manpower to try to end it. Hamas is long gone, defeated, done. The Hamas Mafia is still in place, coasting along on what remains of gulf money. The IDF needs to go into Gaza and grab anything that looks like an serious arm from anyone in Gaza or shut the fuck up and declare peace. Its been YEARS. These endless wars over twitter from a goverment in a safe space hotel in abstention with or without a mediator has to end. Next put a force on a jet and take out the foreign hotel.

The simple fact is that for Israel the objectives were to destroy the nuclear threat and to topple the regime.

Gaza is too nice for the “Gazans.” Or at least the Egyptian and Jordanian Muslims who butchered the Christians there centuries ago and destroyed 66 churches. The only “plan” should be to push every single inhabitant into the Sinai, excavate and put Sarin gas in every tunnel left over, and then only allow back in the ones we choose. The rest (majority) can be sent to any one of the 57 Islamic nations that already exist, and not a single one to the U.S. or Europe.

No, and Hillary Clinton’s endorsement of the plan tells you all that you need to know. If Hillary thinks it’s great, then it will surely end Israel. All of this chatter (and the lack of Trump’s threats) indicate to me that he is about to finish the IRGC. It is when he is bellicose that nothing happens. But when he talks peace, peace, then you better batten down the hatches. It is surprising how the IRGC knows our politicians better than we, the people, who keep hiring them.
so now both the israelis and the gulf states and iran have smelled weakness in trump and are rejecting what his proposals.
Leaving Hamas alive and in the territory guarantees the next war. Gazans will never know peace or prosperity or anything approaching normality while continuing to be ruled by Hamas.
The pause in the war against Hamas made some sense if the aim was to go after the head of the snake in Tehran. But that seems to have bogged down. So time to shift back to Gaza and finish them.
