eing labeled a cheater on the golf course is a black mark that’s virtually impossible to remove. Whether it’s a wild cheating scandal at Q School or someone fluffing their lie during a Saturday morning scramble, cheating in golf isn’t new.
But what happened recently at WingHaven Country Club near St. Louis rocked the local golf scene and is spreading after the culprit went on ESPN Radio in St. Louis to confess.

Guy like that can never be trusted for anything.
Doubt that I would get away with that at Porky’s.
Before I started my current job, 3 employees took me out to play a friendly round of golf. I found out after that my honesty in keeping score was a major factor in hiring me.
Don’t they have rules?
A friend’s brother had a hole-in-one and ended up buying drinks for everyone at his club.
Hit another one two years later. Same routine.
Was expensive golf those days.
A hole in one is not legal if it is not witnessed. He had to know that.
I’m sorry...I got caught.
He's destined for a career in politics.
He is angry that his children were brought into this. Ha. He brought the family into it. He has been cheating for years. His golf buddies know or suspected. He is one excuse after another. He’s the guy who goes to a bowling weekend, and never realizes his wife put a brick in his bag till he got home and bragged about his scores. LOL
The full quote is:
“If I had my way no man guilty of golf would be eligible to any office of trust or profit under the United States, and all female athletes would be shipped to the white-slave corrals of the Argentine.”
And the context makes it even funnier. He had just explained that the YMCA’s gymnastics program gave him an “ineradicable distaste” for calisthenics and that he hated sports “as rabidly as a person who likes sports hates common sense.”

“You learn a lot about a person on the golf course”
i don’t trust folks who cheat at pool ... a bunch of us cousins were playing a friendly game of eight ball on a rec room table when we were young adults when i heard a quiet “click” as one of my cousins surreptitiously tipped a ball into a side pocket when everyone else was distracted by something else ... it was one of those old-fashioned tables without an automatic ball return, and there was a ball already in the pocket that made the click when he tipped the ball in ... i walked away from the game without saying a word and never looked at my cousin the same again ...

I knew he was lying and never played with him again and it only took another year for more members to find out directly about his cheating, and he was so shunned that he finally quit the club and moved on.
I never went around broadcasting about this bum's cheating, but if another member asked me why I wouldn't play with "Joe", I told them.
Golf is a game, if you cheat at a game, WTF kind of rat are you?
My neighbor plays at nice private club and quit playing the annual member-guest tournament because he said every year a few members would bring in ringers who sand bagged all season to bring up their handicaps.
