We’re about to find out how powerful progressives really are [Michigan]

Michigan is ground zero for the Democratic Party’s ideological war.

Its marquee Senate race and two of its House primaries on Tuesday — in Michigan’s 7th and 13th Congressional Districts — will provide another crucial test of whether progressives can not only keep up their winning streak in safe-blue seats but also break through in battlegrounds crucial for control of Congress.

The stakes for the Democratic Party are huge: A strong progressive performance, especially a victory by Abdul El-Sayed in the high-profile Senate race, would significantly bolster the left’s argument that its message resonates widely — setting the stage for a bruising fight over the party’s ideological direction ahead of November.

And any Democrat eyeing a White House bid in 2028 will be watching closely for clues about what kind of message can win in Michigan, the perennial battleground that was recently selected as an early Democratic presidential primary state, giving it outsized influence on the nominating process.

“If Abdul El-Sayed is successful next Tuesday, this will mean the hyper-progressive socialist movement has percolated into one of the most crucial general election states,” said Adrienne Elrod, a longtime Democratic strategist who was senior adviser and spokesperson for former Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign.

“This means Democratic candidates running for President in 2028 will have to be even more mindful of how to approach this sector of the electorate.”

Piker has been criticized for saying that “America deserved 9/11” and that he would “vote for Hamas over Israel every single time.”

El-Sayed has enthusiastically campaigned with Piker at Michigan colleges, and has repeatedly declined opportunities to denounce the streamer’s past remarks, including those widely condemned as antisemitic or extremist.

Progressives

And what exactly are they "progressing" towards, again?

Same as the Rake's. "Poverty and dissolution for all!"

The label “Progressive” came from the “Progressive Income Tax” . The “Progressive” part being that the rich pay at a higher rate than the poor.

The literal meaning of current progressives is that they would take more money from the rich like Elon Musk and all those who are so rich that they own their own homes..own their own cars... own their own retirement funds.

In other words...leveling down to equally poor so everyone is equal.

Obama would not denounce the Rev. Wright-too costly. It has little to do with doing the right thing-something you can never count on.

Should be fun, you’ve got the Retard vs. the Muzzie. In other words you’ve got a section of the Detroit area or the other blue areas around the state. The dems seem to be pushing the Muzzie. Don’t know, don’t care.

They are so powerful they have to lie about who they are. “Progressive” is a euphemism for “Communist”. Liars, thieves and murderers . . . all of them.

FR posted closing campaign ads for the Retard and the Muzzie. The Retard’s ad almost put me to sleep. I think a couple of audience members were dosing off. The Muzzie’s ad was energetic (not that I agree with anything contained in it). But clearly the Big Mo is with the Muzzie.

Not sure who I want to win this primary. I think we have a batter chance against El-Sayed but the scary thing is he could actually win the race once he gets through the primary, anything could happen. On the other hand I think he would provide plenty of good ad material.

It’s not even a real contest at this point.
The Muslim Democrat appears to have a double digit lead.
His opponent (a less flashy, somewhat less progressive Democrat) has never inspired a great amount of passion.

The more normal Democrats still do not have their ground game together, (not picking strong candidates) and the very dangerous, Hamas lovin’ Muslims do.
The GOP is not immune to the same thing happening over here,
just in a different manner. Timid RINOs and Compliant Assistant Democrats.
