A couple of weeks ago MIT's Sloan School of Management published an article with the prosaic but to-the-point title "These are the most urgent AI risks, according to 272 experts". Artificial intelligence is a contentious topic everywhere, but the article is concerned with how it "presents business leaders with a difficult management problem: The risks are numerous and fast-moving and fall unevenly across organizations, sectors, and stakeholders."
There are the well-discussed "challenges", like "the potential for discrimination and the spread of misinformation". (Note that it's apparently concerning that entities defined by their lack of emotion and pitiless logic might discriminate – an instinct that has been discouraged in their human creators for at least two generations.)
But the 272 experts are more worried about scenarios where, for instance, AI systems "develop, access, or are provided with capabilities that increase their potential to cause mass harm through deception, weapons development and acquisition, persuasion and manipulation, political strategy, cyber-offense, AI development, situational awareness, and self-proliferation."
The experts cite additional worries about an AI arms race between developers and governments that will override safeguards, the use of AI in cyberattacks and weapon development, power and wealth concentrating in groups with access to AI, and AI spreading misinformation "which can lead to inaccurate beliefs among users and undermine their autonomy." (Something I thought would have been a feature, not a bug, for those in power.)

Same thing with these Leonard Susskind AI videos. Feynman, Susskind and others have real lectures available. No need for the fakery even if AI does reuse many of their words and phrases.

I have watched several. I don’t know what there budget is but I give them a pass on the quality. Just appreciate that someone has done it,
