Trump Lashes Out at Jeannine Pirro Over Reflecting Pool Case: ‘Disagree 100%’

President Donald Trump lashed out at Jeannine Pirro after the U.S. Attorney in Washington D.C. dropped criminal charges against an American Olympian who had been accused of vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Trump blasted Pirro in a Truth Social post Saturday:

I disagree 100% with Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, on the Reflecting Pool. I don’t know what she was thinking? To me, it was a pure case of VANDALISM, that included the grass, which had a big 86 47 emblazoned in giant letters on it, and other elements of the surrounding area. There may have been some contractor difficulty, but the major damage was caused by VANDALS! President DJT

Trump followed up the post with several videos of people milling about near the reflecting pool.

Look for yourselves at the VANDALISM that took place at The Reflecting Pool. The material is being cut with a knife or a box cutter, for all to see!

Pirro sought Friday to dismiss the criminal case against former Olympic canoeist David Hearn, acknowledging in a court filing that damage to the Reflecting Pool was caused by “flawed installation” rather than vandalism.

Hearn had pleaded not guilty earlier this month to one felony count of destruction of government property after he was accused of damaging the Reflecting Pool during a June 19 visit.

Pirro’s office said in court papers that new information provided after the indictment undermined the government’s original theory of the case.

“It was not until after the return of the indictment, that the DOI provided additional documents to the USAO-DC indicating that damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in June 2026 was the result of flawed installation by the contractor, Atlantic Industrial Coatings (‘AIC’), and the rush to complete the project prior to events associated with the America 250 celebration in the weeks surrounding Independence Day 2026,” according to the court filing.

The dismissal came after The Washington Post earlier this month revealed experts who said the lining peeled away most likely because it was incorrectly installed.

Dropping the case was a “true embarrassment” for Pirro, CNN’s Elie Honig said.

“It’s your job as a prosecutor to get the relevant information first. You don’t charge first and then figure it out. You get the information first and then charge,” the legal analyst said.

Let it go, Mr. President, let it go.

Could you imagine the embarrassment to the Administration if the Interior Department officials were called to testify?

The problem is there was clear cut vandalism before Mr. Hearn showed up. He may not have been a vandal, but others were. Emily Miller has it all documented on X for those that want the whole story.

“The problem is there was clear cut vandalism before Mr. Hearn showed up.”

Yet the US Attorney could prove none.

As I said earlier, there is no video of anyone reaching to the bottom of the pool to dislodge the lining.

If an arm fell off a mannequin in a department store and you picked it up, there would be no case for vandalism or destruction of property.

The Interior Department can testify to the earlier vandalism which they investigated.

Apples and oranges. There was damage to the lining and separate damage in the middle of the pool which is believed to have been a very long slash with a knife.

Please show me where the Interior Department found evidence of vandalism.

Secretary Borgum went on and on about it without showing anything to support his claim.

With the admission that the installation was faulty, the greatest damage came from the contractor’s incompetence. Borgum and Pirro should be going after Atlantic Industrial Coatings of New Canton, Virginia.

I never knew vandalism was such a difficult thing to detect.

I don’t know why he does this either. He’s got bigger fish to fry.

Even if he is guilty; unless you have the evidence.....let him go. He’ll screw up again.

Did the fence posts jump into the water themselves?

Jeannine Pirro pro VANDALISM unless it’s her own property.

Trump needs to adhere to the Churchill maxim.

“If you throw a stone at every dog that barks you never get anywhere.”

The bottom line is that no DC jury will ever convict the creeps who vandalized the pool so The Donald and Pirro are doing the WWF drama thing to publicly denounce the vandals

If someone had been spotted in the middle of the pool, that would have been a stronger case

malicious compliance is a thing. I’m sure there are plenty of deep state employees who are going out of there way to ensure anything T$ does is messed up, whilst following directions

At most ALLEGED “shoddy installation.” Have we seen any due process on that accusation? This is suppoed to have been written by people with a law degree, not MSN, who have at least queered any pursuit of the installer for fraud, malfeasance , whatever. Shame on Pirro for that. And you, despite bold statements don’t know any different.
