Former NFL QB Sean Salisbury disagrees with Dan Orlovsky take on men getting pedicure.
Dan Orlovsky has an uncanny habit of riling up the internet. The former NFL quarterback’s remarks on the stigma regarding male hygiene have recently made headlines.
On a recent segment of ESPN’s Get Up, Orlovsky claimed that “muscular men” tend to avoid getting pedicures. Another former NFL quarterback quickly corrected Orlovsky.
Sean Salisbury, who played for the Seahawks, the Colts, the Vikings, the Oilers and the Chargers during his playing days, called out Orlovsky.
Love my guy [Dan Orlovsky], but he is absolutely wrong here. We all expect our lady to have good feet, then we should have them as well. I don’t need Wolf Toes! One of life’s great pleasures is a pedicure with a cold beer! Masculine men do get pedicures, brother!
Over the years, Orlovsky has made several questionable statements on various ESPN shows. The 42-year-old chose Get Up to blurt out his latest controversial take.
I have never gotten a pedicure. I never will. I am completely against pedicures for dudes. You’re a dude, you’re not supposed to get pedicures. Nah, man. No, no, no. I am so against this; this is a thing for me. Dudes should not be getting pedicures!
While Orlovsky got schooled by many on social media, one particular post stood out from the rest. That post was made by Jon Sumrall, the head coach of the Florida Gators football team. Even Orlovsky acknowledged the dig.

My dog never had his nails cut..they wore down on their own when he was outside doing dog stuff.
Bingo! I’m 72, with diabetes and have been treated for neuropathy. I now see a podiatrist and get a diabetic pedicure every 3 months. Covered under Medicare, which I have paid into for 50 years.
I’m 71.

Solved this problem. My toe nails were removed because of hereditary ingrown toenails.
I wouldn’t criticize a guy for getting a pedicure. If it were comedy poking fun at men trying to cut their toenails, I can accept that. It’s comedy. (I have to go back and read the source now...BRB). Ah. Not comedy. Just a 42 year old guy trying to be masculine on a sports talk show. Kind of the same thing, I guess.
He is 42 years old...I expect him to be able to cut his own toenails.
For some of us, especially as we age, we damn near need power tools. And, it is easy to screw up-I have occasionally drawn blood doing it, and if you aren’t careful (especially if you have neuropathy in your feet) that can cause a serious medical issue.
No. I don’t pass judgement on a guy who pays a professional to do this for him.
I am not particularly overweight, and I have a variety of good implements to do it, but I can’t imagine doing it with a lot of weight on and lack of flexibility.
We are in a masculinity panic if people give a rat’s ass about manicures and pedicures. I’d bet 100 to 1 that President Trump uses them. You’ve got to be really fragile to think that that would make you less of a man.
That timeline is correct! A couple years ago I gave up on butchering my toenails. Hacking at them always left me with a jagged mess.
