Families Face Anxiety, Angst as Loved Ones Are Deployed to Fight Iran

A 4-year-old child began having behavioral problems when his father left for war.

A wife whose husband works in Army intelligence is already dealing with heightened anxiety, even though he hasn’t been deployed yet.

A woman found this year that she is struggling to cope with the news of conflicts at home and abroad, nearly 20 years after she lost her fiancé in combat.

More than 80 percent of military families have reported elevated stress from the war with Iran, driven by safety concerns, deployment changes, and the fear of escalation, according to a March poll of an estimated 200 families by Blue Star Families, one of the largest nonprofits supporting active military and veterans.

As the war with Iran persists, mental health counselors say they are attending to more military families who are reporting stress and anxiety about a conflict that has taken the lives of at least 18 service members and wounded more than 400.

“We have tripled our caseload,” said Hannah Simms, the founder of Rise Alone Therapy, a tele-therapy provider that caters to the military and their families. “Everybody is kind of on edge.”

“There was this understanding that this was going to be a short-term deal,” Ms. Simms added, noting President Trump’s declarations at the beginning of March that the war could last four to five weeks.

Five months later, the war has flared again, following the end of a cease-fire agreement and then two weeks of bombing. The Strait of Hormuz has again been closed, sending gasoline prices over $4 a gallon, diplomatic efforts are...

Did you sign up for benefits, or did you sign up to be a warrior? My son signed up to be a warrior. I do not want to hear it. Frauds.

I was like “What happened to knowing what military marriage entails?” when I saw what “news”paper published this story. They really want to kill morale, patriotism and anything President Trump is trying to accomplish.

I forget - did they endorse Mamdani 25 years after other radical Islamists murdered 2000 New Yorkers?

A four year old doesn’t know where daddy goes when he leaves and what does a woman who lost her fiance in the military 20 years ago and is bothered by news for the last 2 decades have to do with anything about today’s news, and a military wife gets anxious about her husband’s job when a call up is possible, what do these have to do with anything, especially the 4 years old and the 20 year gal, and what is her situation today, is she long married with a bunch of kids?

This article sounds like something new and unique is happening, military families feeling heightened feelings when a war is possible.

Umm, this all comes with the package, unfortunately. Anyone who joins up without knowing that is too dumb to serve. However, from what I have heard, the military during the Biden years, had a high number of woke enlistments, and the higher ups were chosen just because they were woke, and sometimes downright perverted.

“We can guarantee that an armored division won’t get done over for 15 bob a week.”

The inventory listed by Chapman’s character is probably more that what’s in the entire U.K. nowadays.
