Informal polls conducted by recent graduates on China’s TikTok equivalent Xiaohongshu, in which they ask their peers about their employment status, paint a bleak picture. One held in June by a 2025 graduate had more than 14,000 respondents, of whom more than 10,000 said they were still unemployed. Another poll found 3,317 of 4,637 respondents selecting “unemployed since graduating, feeling aimless, lost and anxious” as their situation.

There are lots of college walking the streets in USA as well or working in basic jobs such as waiters. Most are burdened with student debts in 5 figures. My ex-GF at age 66 still has $13,000 student debt.
India has a huge glut of computer programmers.

Some of these replies have caused me to think why I never went to college. At the time (late fifties) it was definitely unaffordable nor did I have the desire (or prabably the aptitude) to attend college, so I went into the military. I DID have some of the aptitudes for the chances they were offering & was able to sign on for more orless what I wanted. Well the wages after I was discharged were hardly what I expected, but I didn’t have a large debt hanging over my head either. I had no debt at all.
My guess is that those millions of students are American born in the US and just itching to be a spy in the US.
