Bethesda Game Studios has penned a lengthy studio letter on the developer’s project pipeline for the next several years. Among the updates are confirmation of multiple Fallout projects, including Fallout 5, and notes about The Elder Scrolls VI and Starfield.
Bethesda details the future of Fallout, confirming that Fallout 5 is currently in preproduction, saying it “remains our long-range destination.” This echoes a similar statement he made in 2022, when he said Fallout 5 would arrive after The Elder Scrolls VI, which will likely still be the case. The game is being developed using Creation Engine 3, Bethesda’s next-generation game engine that will also power The Elder Scrolls VI.
Additionally, multiple other Fallout projects are in the works. Bethesda confirms it is developing remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, the former of which was leaked in court documents back in 2023. There are no release windows for these remasters, however.
Fallout 76 will receive its next major expansion in 2027 called Raven Rock, a prequel story to Fallout 3. Fallout Shelter will receive new seasons while Bethesda teases the unscripted TV adaptation of the mobile game that's currently in development at Amazon. Bethesda also confirms there will be no Fallout Day broadcast this year because it is planning to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary in 2027 with a live celebration in Washington, D.C.
In the last Fallout-related update, Bethesda confirmed it is working with Obsidian Entertainment on a new Fallout game, corroborating an earlier report that Obsidian had been mandated to pivot to this project, canceling an Avowed sequel in the process.

Hope it's good. I doubt I'll live to see Fallout 6, LOL
I don’t have the computer for those games. I like the Elder Scrolls games
I’ve been playing Wartales off and on. it’s combat is turn based just like original Pool or Radiance. Much slower than a first person.
Considering how bad starfield overall did, I doubt FO5 will be good. Bethesda has not come out with a good game in a long time. I like FO4, but the story was essentially a rehash of fo3. Combat was far superior though.
Frankly, I would leave Obsidian Entertainment alone. They managed to half-ass Outer Worlds and its sequel. Obsidian caught lightning in a bottle with New Vegas, they are not a 'thing'.
Starfield did well revenue-wise. The gaming community at-large was not happy with it (i.e. buyer's remorse) and it will be interesting to see if Bethesda can fool the public twice on this one.
Fallout 76 is well-above where it was when it was released. I'm going to reserve judgement on the Raven Rock expansion, but honestly 76 is just a scavenger-hunt with guns and RMT out the wazoo.
Disclosure: I have played all these games except Starfield. I have had my eyes opened by Expedition 33, and I don't look at these heavy-hitter game publishers the same way anymore.

"Fuss row doh-dee-oh doh."
These big AAA game companies need to abandon perusing the false gold of woke and reconstructive ideology. They cannot be afraid of grand stories and themes trying to reach some nebulous modern audience.
Saw “Things to Come” again not to long ago. Was struck by how much “Wings Over the World” resembles the Brotherhood of Steel.
The thing is, even a half-assed New Vegas 2 from Obsidian would probably be better than Fallout 5.
The question is, how woke will it be?
I don't if Obsidian would take a woke track, but Bethesda and their boss Microsoft will call that shot. And you know where that's going to lead...
I’m delighted to say that headline made no sense to me at all!
That's pretty much how I feel when I look at a post about Linux! :-)
(To any Linux fans out there, nothing against that OS. I'd like to have a Linux box myself. It seems so intimidating though!)
Excellent.
I have been playing Fallout 76 again lately after I found out it now includes SE Ohio.
