Trump’s warning about communism is justified. If we broaden the term and speak instead of etatism and collectivism, his argument hits the nail on the head.
President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning against communist tendencies in his country. A look at the European Union and Germany provides an explanation: figures like Zohran Mamdani can be found everywhere around us.
Two powerful tendencies are currently challenging Western culture. First, Islam is moving into the spiritual vacuum left behind by a toothless and, in many respects, spiritually hollow Christianity. It turns out that a church which has degenerated into a moralizing green NGO can no longer offer people comfort and support in the face of the existential questions of human existence.
Second -- and this tendency has become almost a paradigm within the European Union -- we are witnessing the openly pursued construction of a powerful state economy.
In numerous Western countries, government spending ratios have now reached the worrying threshold of 50 percent. Within this development crystallizes what can rightly be described as faith in the state: the desire to place responsibility for one’s own existence, from cradle to grave, into the hands of government.
The state is not merely acting as regulator, caretaker, and commander, intervening ever more deeply in economic processes and in people’s daily lives. Its desire for control, extending to the construction of a genuine nanny state that only formally still qualifies as a welfare state, consumes enormous sums of money and drives taxes and levies ever higher.
It appears that parts of the West have ignored Hayek’s warning and set out once again to explore the road to serfdom. This road is paved with small incentives and benefits designed to prevent people from recognizing their growing dependence and abandoning the path they have embarked

Both islam and communism think they will win this battle. Maybe they should fight each other now.
Or maybe it always was?
That’s kind of like warning a drug addict that drugs are bad for you.
McCarthy was right.
Senator McCarthy and the John Birch Society warned us about it 70ish years ago and it’s even worse now than they indicated.
“Both islam and communism think they will win this battle. Maybe they should fight each other now.”
Someone commented on X that the communists think they’re using the Islamists for control when it’s really the Islamists using the communists.
As I see it, Islam has 1500 years experience at this. And they have a guidebook which lays out political and spiritual control principles. And Islam is (and always has been) led by an intellectual class who truly read their guidebook and who spend their lives having deep discussions with other genuine intellectuals about how to take over the world.
Islam is wrong about everything but they are very serious about their endeavor.
On the other hand, Communism (for the most part) is championed by wannabe intellectuals who have never bothered to read Marx and who, at best, have late night BS sessions about how cool it will be when everything is free.
In the inevitable battle between Islam and Communism, Islam will win easily.
He’a right data in the book Behold A Pale Horse showes just how easy it can be at any time.
What about fascism, where big government and big business become largely indistinguishable?
Should we worry about that?
bkmk
People on the whole don’t listen, they don’t heed verbal warnings, they must experience the danger first hand before they are moved to action.
Socialism and communism will always be popular because many people think they can get something for nothing.
That is why the dimrats always promise free stuff.
I remember Bernie campaigning on a promise of free college.
Got the attention of a lot of college students at the time.
“In the inevitable battle between Islam and Communism, Islam will win easily...”

When you are forced to pray five times a day and can bruise your wife(ves), there’s time enough to commit terror...
The second generation here will likely be WORSE...
Over 60 years ago my parents used to read from the John Birch Society and books like “None dare call it Treason”. I used to make fun of them. Boy they were right!
I agree. Communists (and "Democratic Socialists" who hate the Communist label but believe in the same things) already made this fatal mistake in Europe. They looked around at their soy-boy foot soldiers, realized they weren't likely to win the struggle against capitalism that they craved, and decided they could import high testosterone, West-hating Muslims to fight their battles for them. They planned to buy them off with welfare benefits once the victory was won, turning them the type of into compliant, politically loyal little brown people they love to rule and keeping all power for themselves.
Sweden has wised up and is trying to remigrate their errors, but it may be too late. It is already too late for Britain and France, whose ruling caste of Marxist pseudo-intellectuals refuse to abandon the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan - and will never accept that Islam has taken advantage of their lust for power and outsmarted them.
The Red/Green alliance Who will be the last standing? Will that battle occur before or after the effort to eliminate their opponents?
Good comment. I agree.
