He was supposed to have drained the swamp. Why was there still a deep state.

Because the deep state is so entrenched it fights every one of his efforts. It took a long time to get thus bad. It’s going to take a while to repair the damage. Everyone is going to have to get off their couches and phones to fight it, not just the president.

It took a long time for it to get this deep. Deeper than any of the good guys imagined.

Many he hired to clean it up have been deep staters themselves. Most show their true colors in time and he fires them.

The “Deep State” (and to be sure there really is one) is a generations old entrenched bureaucracy. The best Trump can do in 8 years is make a significant dent which at the least is a step in the right direction. Unfortunately, the Deep State (and that includes the MIC) is still alive and still has teeth. Hopefully 8 years of a successor conservative administration and Congress will at least tame the beast.

The sad fact is that the Deep State can be created with the stroke of a pen but it can not be dismantled that way. I consider this just another reason to despise liberals.

The deep state has been there for over half a century and you’re whining because he didn’t clean it up in 3-1/2 years when the entire apparatus was arrayed against him 24-7-365.

Wow. Just wow.

Seems to me that there might be about 2 reasons why the swamp has not been drained. Either many in the Deep State were not discovered(that’s hard to believe) or adequate punishment was not provided. Now, I would naturally think that almost anyone would have to admit that complete honesty in our election system is an absolute MUST & anyone not going along with that must be pushed VERY harshly. Perhaps punishment should extend well beyond what is currently provided for. I’m sure those receiving this very severe punishment would not agree with or vote for something like this, but I think it is nececessary if we are to have what is needed in the way of the election process. In the past, a process such as I am suggesting would have to pass a vote, but now it seems evident that this is not enough to provide the needed action.
