Newly released bodycam footage is shedding light on the final weeks of NBA player Brandon Clarke.
The video shows the 29-year-old’s April arrest in Arkansas on speeding and drug possession charges—just six weeks before he was found dead in Los Angeles, reported CBS.
Police say Clarke was carrying kratom, a leaf-derived supplement frequently sold as an energy booster or pain reliever— better known as “gas station heroin.”
While Clarke’s official cause of death is still under investigation, the footage has renewed national scrutiny over the safety of kratom, a substance the FDA has repeatedly warned the public about. He was found dead on May 11 in Los Angeles.

No sympathy from me...
NARCAN should also be outlawed for use on known drug offenders. Let them kill themselves and help clean up society.
I totally agree
It’s all fun and games until it is your kid.
I try to spread the word to stay from drugs.
It gets worse every year in terms of strength and addictability.
My nephew spent his youth trying every drug that he could find. Now, he drives a truck when he might have done better in life.

If he is clean, then that is an honorable life. However, truck driving is a tough job.
I am not saying there is anything wrong with driving a truck. Do not misunderstand me.
If your son had the ability to be a public accountant, but because of drug use in an earlier life, he cut his opportunity short and ended up just becoming a bookkeeper, that would be the same thing. It’s ok to be a bookkeeper, but it is a measure of failure if he didn’t become that public accountant that he could have.
This Keaton is mass produced and imported and sold in USA Convenience Stores at Gas stations by Communist Red China.
They are openly murdering our youth and young adults. It also causes deep psychosis.
FDA can blab all they want. When will it be made illegal and when will law enforcement start locking up the Chinese importers? That is what needs to happen. Same as fentanyl. Same as heroin.
Kratom not Keaton.
There is nothing wrong with being a truck driver. I wanted to be one before I joined the Marines at 18.
I have several relatives that are truck drivers and they have done extremely well at it. The trucks alone can cost upwards of a quarter million dollars...............
Again, don’t misunderstand me. I have not said there is something wrong with being a trucker. There is nothing wrong with being a convenience store clerk, if that was the best you could do.
But, if the best you could do was Walmart II, then being a store clerk is a disappointment. It’s a relative thing. If you have achieved what is a high point for you, it’s wonderful. However, if you have achieved. 0.00000000000000000001%^1000 of what you could have done, then it’s a failure.
Moonwalk much bro? 😂
My position is unchanged.
I’m just not inclined 27 paragraphs explaining my position completely from the onset, because it is impossible to predict what people will react to or be offended by it.
If you are, for you and your circumstances, doing the best you could have done, you are not a failure. That is irrespective on your position in society. However, if because of unwise decisions at a young age or if you are unmotivated or whatever, that you achieve a level of accomplishments that is far below what your talents could have led you to do, you are underperforming from your potential.
Taking kratom is kray kray...
Sometimes it is more than mental abilities that lead us to our adult livelihoods. Maybe he could have been more, but maybe he didn’t have the energy to deny himself and get there. Be very proud of the man he is today and let him know it.
