I’ve been fishing the South Fork of the Snake River most of my life. That’s a great fish. I’ve never got close to something like that. I used to drift the river a lot. Browns are the trout family white shark. I caught one with a minnow sticking out of his throat after he hit my big black spinner. The river stays cold most years and the fish generally stay active. I’m no fan of eating trout. Unless I hurt them, they go back. My wife loves eating them. I’d rather have perch. The South Fork of the Snake River is a beautiful float trip from Swan Valley to Ririe. Right now it can be a quick float. They’re dumping 14,000 cfs through Palisades Dam for irrigation. Happy 4th yall.

Brown trouts taste like mud. Especially the big ones. Where I go fishing catching 24 inchers is common.
