The Democratic Socialists are right: This is no time for half measures. If the United States is to thrive for another 250 years, we must commit ourselves to a profoundly radical vision of the future.
Our present divisions, strains, and discontents are so severe, they demand nothing less than a revolutionary response – one that reimagines our relationship to each other and our government.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
Though proclaimed in Philadelphia in 1776, those stirring words from the Declaration of Independence remain the most revolutionary platform ever endorsed by a political body. Their radicalism is unmatched because they negate the basic tendency of all governments to extend dominion over the people they rule. Their message represents such a thorough break from historic norms that other ideologies claiming the mantle of radicalism – especially Marxists and the woke ideology embraced by the Democrat Socialists – are exposed as reactionary efforts to restore top-down systems.
For almost all of history – from the epochs of pharaohs, emperors, and kings to the modern bureaucratic states – governments have been potently hierarchical. A small coterie of leaders held strict control over their people, whom they directed as they saw fit. Citizens were not individuals with agency but members of a collective whose ultimate purpose was to serve the group at the discretion of rulers who knew best.

It seems to me that this is what the Dems have been searching for, authenticity. Everyone knows that politicians are reptilian power seekers. The problem for Dems is that they couldn’t seem genuine while promising nothing but division. Then came the communists. Again, we know the commies aren’t telling the truth, but they are genuine in their hate of America, hate of Jews, hate of the rich, hate of Christians, etc. I think the miseducated masses are responding favorably to the message because it feels authentic.

Amendments 13, 14 and 15 were added by war. So much bad stuff has had the 14th Amendment used to justify it , the latest being anchor babies , that it should be repealed. Only a COS has a chance of doing that.
My suggestion:
The Income Tax Free & Property Tax Free Country Act of 2026
Each state government shall be entitled to create new countries. The territory of each country shall be such that navigation to an ocean or the Gulf of Mexico is possible.
Each such country shall given a constitution, which shall provide, in perpetuity, that it shall be forever revenue limited to motor fuel and personal property sales taxation.
These new countries and their resident citizens shall be legally independent of all existing domestic governments and courts.
Each such country shall be deemed to have a treaty with the United States, which shall, in perpetuity:
1. ensure each American citizen who becomes a citizen and permanent resident of such a country shall not suffer a revenue imposition from any government of the United States,
2. ensure that country shall have free civilian navigation to and from international waters, and
3. bar the placement of foreign military means within the physical bounds of the country.
That can be done by majority vote.
We need to limit the ability of Democrats to buy votes by placing middle-class tax caps in the federal constitution.
The high-income people have the Laffer Curve effect to protect them.
Enter in bills for two constitutional amendments:
RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY TAX AMENDMENT
Levies on any residential property of less than 2799 square feet of finished living space shall be no higher than the 2019 dollar amounts for the property, or for a newer or since resold property no higher than what it would have been levied at for 2019 if it lacked owner specific tax breaks, increased by 3% per calendar year since 2019 and by any percentage increase to its finished living space.
FEDERAL PERSONAL INCOME TAX AMENDMENT
Federal taxation on personal income shall be progressively capped as follows:
below 20% of the median federal full-time civilian employee compensation amount, 10%,
below 50% of the median federal full-time civilian employee compensation amount, 22%,
below the median federal full-time civilian employee compensation amount, 30%,
below the average federal full-time civilian employee compensation of the 100,000 largest recipients, 35%,
below the average federal full-time civilian employee compensation of the 10,000 largest recipients, 40%.
[Note 1: All percentages to include employee FICA and self-employment tax as they are income taxes.]
[Note 2: These are very close to the combined (1040 + employee FICA & Medicare) personal income tax rates now levied.]
[Note 3: Anything that the IRS would as of January 1, 2024 legally be able to collect income tax on if provided to any person would be considered compensation.]
Fighting in Congress to send middle-class income and property taxation cap constitutional amendments to the states would make Congress turn deep red come 2027.
These amendments will serve to reunite the United States.
The emphasis will shift back to making systems work with the generally limited funds available. If more funds are absolutely needed at a given time, government salaries can be cut. That won’t be for long.
Repel the 17th!
It would fix a lot of problems.
