Supreme Court refuses to review E. Jean Carroll’s $5M sex abuse, defamation verdict vs. Trump
WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Monday declined to take up President Trump’s appeal of the $5 million sexual abuse and defamation verdict that followed a lawsuit by former advice columnist E. Jean Carroll.
Now Trump will have no choice but to pony up the $5 million to the 82-year-old, who has repeatedly claimed that the president sexually assaulted her in a Bergdorf Goodman fitting room during the mid-1990s.

What happens if he just doesn’t pay her?
I think executive privilege was the wrong legal argument; the argument should have been the legal procedural errors in the trial that in practical terms denied Trump due process; demanding a new trial and a change of venue out of NYC.
Sickening.
I agree. Executive privilege is pretty much only applicable with he was in office. I wonder if he can file another appeal.
I have to admit her lawyers were brilliant. They had the judge require Trump put it in a bonds company for holding now that the case is over, she’ll get the money easily by the bond company. It’s completely out of Trump’s hands. I do wish Trump had better lawyers, but for some reason, he picks the worst of the worst.
SC sucks...
Can Trump re-file under the arguments you listed?
Trump has been lucky to find anyone to represent him as he has been ostracized by the legal community. Trump is doing the best he can.
I think he’d first have to file under those arguments in NY state supreme court and when rejected there with an appeal to SCOTUS.
I hope so.
I agree.
He picks the best of what he can get, because the best of all are told by Deep State and/or the left that they will lose all their other clients if they take on Trump's cases.
He needs a consigliere rather than a lawyer, but those are not easy to find.
What Trump should do is have the DOJ investigate the NY state and city DAs for any corruption. I am sure that if Trump we’re to put out a request to have New Yorkers report any corruption they have experienced in the DAs office to the DOJ would provide enough legal justification for an in depth investigation. I would be highly surprised if no wrongdoing was found.
But that would require Trump actually wanting to fight back against Democratic corruption.
Very unnerving stuff to see North Korean brand of justice go on in this country. Tick off the communist democrap party, get tagged with a crime without a shred of evidence. And the Republican party continues to sit on it’s hands while these corrupt bastards continue to operate.
The good ones were scared off by the woketard bar associations and other woketard threats - those that weren’t woketards themselves.

I agree.
Shit’s over, dude. I’m glad I’m old. I won’t get to see the mass purges, the North-Korean-like single-party rule, and etcetera.
That is easily the most stupid thing I will read all day.
E Jean Carrol will likely never see a dime of her ill gotten gains
