Tehran is using force to gain control over traffic through the Strait.
The best selling point for President Trump’s memorandum of understanding with Iran was that at least it opened the Strait of Hormuz. Well, now the regime is trying to nullify those terms by using force against commercial vessels, Gulf states and U.S. bases. All of this violates the deal...
On Thursday Iran struck a container ship transiting the Strait with a drone. The U.S. responded on Friday with strikes on Iranian missile and drone storage sites and coastal radars. It announced the strike after markets closed as if to demonstrate the economic constraints on U.S. military action.
Iran then hit a tanker carrying Qatari crude. The U.S. retaliated again against Iranian military sites and has escorted oil tankers with heavy air cover. Iran then fired drones and missiles at civilian targets and U.S. bases in Bahrain and Kuwait.
“It is very possible that they will never learn,” Mr. Trump wrote of Iran’s regime on Saturday night. Or is it U.S. decision makers who never learn? Vice President JD Vance has been touting Iran’s “transformed” Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps leaders ready to “turn over a new leaf” with the U.S. He even reached “gentlemen’s agreements” with them outside the memorandum, Mr. Vance assured critics.
Well, these are no gentlemen. It’s the same terrorist regime, and this is the Battle of Hormuz that Mr. Trump thought he had ducked. In case there was any doubt, foreign minister Abbas Araghchi said Sunday that Iran is solely responsible for managing the Strait under the memorandum. He said “no other country has any responsibility in that regard.” Mr. Araghchi is Iran’s chief negotiator with Mr. Vance.
It wasn’t enough that Mr. Trump gave Iran an oil sanctions waiver without safeguards, promised billions of

General Trump is an absolute disaster with his war fighting skills.
Netanyahu dragged him into it, and now it’s a tarbaby.
When this turns around, are you going to give him credit? or will you say it took too long, he waisted time and money, blah blah blah.
Time for the Dalek solution.
Well, I see we have another war fighting expert in here...
and this is why you finish the JOB..not leave when you are 70 percent done..you let Israel kill off the remainder of the regime, the ones that Trump told BiBi to let live for what reason I still dont get, you KILL THEM ALL..Iran wins as long as they have drones, as long as they have drones the strait will never be secure
No Navy, No Air force, No income...No Winning
Somebody gave Trump some really bad advice: Bomb Iran, and the people will rise up and overthrow the mullahs. Or the mullahs will just flee the country on their own.
Such advice might work when dealing with rational opponents. But not when dealing with religious fanatics.
Time will tell. But as of now, it looks like an ugly stalemate.
You people must realize you’re missing something. A strait that’s dangerous is in our interests. Do you think the gulf nations are gonna blame us because their oil can’t get to market? Their customers will have to turn to us. We’re more reliable suppliers. Then there’s Russia/Venezuela when things settle down in those countries. It may be better to have Iran scare their neighbors. It’s like Hitler and Stalin carving each other up for 2+ years before we invaded Normandy. Freedom can wait for the Iranians. The Shah’s son can wait too. China’s gonna need us. Think chess.
Iran does not have the cards at all. But I understand why the msm has an easy time convincing dummies and that’s a problem.
All of Iran’s sneaky ways and transgressions will give us lots of opportunities to continue denuding them. It’s an opportunity to kill Islamic terrorists. I say target the leadership much, much harder for 6 months every day.
Looks unfinished to me.
The RATs could care less about America. Right right now their whole purpose in life is to deny President Trump any wins. Iran has that figured out . They will keep trying to embarrass him to give the RATs and their useful idiots something to whine about.
No matter what happens in November Trump will have 2 more years to slap the mullahs around. Hakkeem too-heard it somewhere.
This is an Air war and a Navy war, jets, missiles, drones, satellites, helicopters, ships, carriers, and the targets are in the open basically, on land, in the air, on the waters, and we aren’t accomplishing what we think we are, although we are probably doing far better at the effort than any other country could.
It seems that the modern air war capabilities are still far short of what everyone thinks they are and have thought so every few years for generations.
The Iranians only hope is to spike the price of oil, gain tacit support of members of Congress who don’t want the war to continue and use this malcontent to influence Democrat gains in the midterms. They have no effective fighting forces and just enough drones and missiles to keep the pressure on the Strait of Hormuz. Trump has few options left. Keep eroding the Iranian drone and missile forces with air strikes or seize or destroy all of the Iranian oil infrastructure.
It is amazing to me that even on this supposedly conservative website, in the minds of some of these people, Iran is indeed winning “The Battle of the Strait of Hormuz“.
We live in a society where people demand instant gratification and instant victory.
When it doesn’t happen instantly they begin acting out like little children who have been denied something in the checkout aisle at a supermarket.
Just amazing.
In answer to your question whether or not they will give him credit if things work out in the end, for a lot of these people it simply is not something they would even consider. Like the media, like the Democrats, the RINOs, annd anybody else with Trump Derangement Syndrome, they will simply drop it and move onto the next thing.
I was in a grocery store today, and I purchased a large pack of chicken wings at $1.99 per pound. It doesn’t seem that long ago when people were hyperventilating about the price of a dozen eggs or the availability at any reasonable cost of chicken. It seemed absolutely asinine that the president even had to answer questions about the availability of affordable chicken wings, but he said in a level manner that things would eventually even out and prices would come down over time.
But I don’t think I ever heard a single person in the media or who was hyperventilating about it even here on this website give him a smidgen of credit for it.
In other words, don’t hold your breath for people to give them any credit if it works out in the end.
They’ll give him the same amount of credit that they gave him for the Abraham Accords, which is absolutely none.
Absolutely correct.....
We could take Kharg island but that would mean boots on the ground-show stopper. Perhaps they’re smart enough to know that attacking us on Kharg would be cutting their nose to spite their face. We could let the oil flow to keep the pumps in working order. Let the gulf nations take it? Perhaps but only after a few more effective tit for tat bombing exchanges.
Trump and allies should set up a program where the Strait must remain open and the cost of ANY AND ALL damages inflicted upon shipping by Iran will be 100% covered by IRANIAN IMPOUNDED FUNDS. This would stiffen the spines of the shipping insurers and reinsurers. And IRANIANS UNDERSTAND MONEY, do not want to lose it and will punish (i.e., kill) those who cause the loss.
I’m posting this in every thread where the absence of such MONETARY DAMAGES ASSESSMENT is partially responsible for the situation. Current methods are NOT WORKING!
