If Venezuela as the 51st state is more than a talking point, now is the time to prove it. Show the world—and the Venezuelan people—that the proposal is serious, with a clear vision and concrete action.
Just one more reason to love America.
When my SIL was a Marine, he helped with recovery efforts after the 2005 tsunami. I’m sure the experience still haunts him.
Besides the obvious humanitarian motivation, this is strategically sound. Venezuela is now a de facto American protectorate and we need to take care of them. It will impress the Venezuelans also.
