The decisive primary sweep by NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s left-wing comrades gave Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez such an ego boost that Democratic insiders predict it could spur a White House bid in 2028.
The “Squad’s” queen bee may ditch her long-anticipated plot to unseat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for bigger game after three radical Mamdani-backed insurgents running for House seats on Tuesday defeated old-guard Dems, pushing the party even further left, the insiders said.
“New York’s clean sweep was a political earthquake that shows voters generally want to shake up the system,” said Adam Green, co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee.
“Whatever percent chance [Ocasio-Cortez] put on running for president a week ago, it should be a higher percent chance now – absolutely. It could have gone from 5% to 20%,” added Green, whose political action committee has previously helped finance campaigns for Ocasio-Cortez, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and other lefties.
A top establishment Dem believes Ocasio-Cortez will run for president.
“She’s never itched to be a senator, one of 100, because you don’t become a leader — that takes years and a deep record of legislating,” said the aide. “Plus, who wants to be junior senator [in New York] to Kirsten Gillibrand?”
The 36-year-old celebrity socialist already had “great potential” to seek higher office – but “even more so” after Mamdani’s radical allies Darializa Avila Chevalier, Claire Valdez and Brad Lander won their primaries, insisted a longtime New York Democratic operative.
“Every light on the dashboard is flashing [that] people want generational change,” said the operative.
“Everyone’s freaking out,” said a longtime party fundraiser, who chided elected Dems for for “looking stupid” by defending scandal-scarred Maine Senate nominee Graham Platner in a bid to retain his viability.

What everyone keeps omitting about the recent NYC elections is the failure was (1) the main party folks had gotten so use to running unopposed they did not organize any ground game, and (2) then the voter turnout was on average only 22% and lower in some precincts. In essence, the Dims did not organize, the DSA did and did to take advantage of the low voter turnout as well. All they needed was to get a voter turnout of 12% for them and they had a “majority”.
What’s up with this communist fixation of putting a Caribbeaner mama in the White House?. Men. Let’s not turn America over to all the Trump hating Handmaiden Tails.
Fetterman is a good guy (for a liberal).
But here’s the thing. I know a few older PA Democrats. Sad to say, but most of them are turning against Fetterman. One even told me that Fetterman just joined the Republican Party!
There must be some kind of propaganda campaign going on against Fetterman. Is it coming from the leftist media?
I doubt that Fetterman will even win the primary when his term is up. I’m also surprised that Pennsylvania is one of the states that did not participate in the great American state fair on the DC Mall. Does anyone know who made that decision? The governor? The legislature? Who?
I certainly hope that every Republican running against the Democrat in Pennsylvania this year uses that information against the Democrat. Pennsylvania is a very purple state right now.

I understand that it was the D governor, Josh Shapiro. I guess you can call Shapiro a “moderate”. But he’s thinking about a presidential run.

I expect them to pack the Supreme Court the first chance they get. The Constitution allows Congress to set the number of Justices at any number they want.
A Trump veto will stop all that.

We need a younger, electric charismatic candidates to connect with the younger generation 30 and below. We need to effectively explain that the reason you can’t buy a house is because of the government and their fees and urban growth boundaries. Red tape. This has driven housing costs, the real reason for housing shortages.
