The Coast Guard said no fatalities have been reported, and all crew members from Coast Guard Air Station Sitka have been transported to Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center.
The United States Coast Guard confirmed Monday that an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter has crashed in Sitka, Alaska, during a training flight with four people on board.
The Coast Guard said no fatalities have been reported, and all crew members from Coast Guard Air Station Sitka have been transported to Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center.
The cause of the crash, which occurred Monday morning, is currently under investigation.
"The safety, well-being, and rescue of our crew members is our absolute, immediate priority," the Coast Guard said on X. "The cause of the incident is not yet known. A formal investigation will be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding the event."
The incident comes after an Air Force B-52 aircraft crashed after takeoff last week at Edwards Air Force Base, in California, killing all eight travelers on board.

Aviation Ping............😣
Coast Guard helicopter crash
has nothing to do with
Air Force B-52 crash
Why do they bring this up?
Ask Misty Severi...............
Pretty good day when everyone walks away from a chopper crash.
Done!...............
Kind of interesting choice of nickname of an aircraft. The term “Jayhawker” doesn’t really have the most sterling connotation overall.
Exactly ...
“Pretty good day when everyone walks away from a chopper crash.”
Yeah, more than a few flights I was a bit embarassed to feel relieved after landing.
**Pretty good day when everyone walks away from a chopper crash.**
My closest neighbor (93 yrs old) here in south central TN, flew Hueys in VN in 66/67. He, along with his crew and the recon team he had just picked up, had their chopper shot out from under them at about 50’ agl. It landed hard, but they all survived and ran to a backup that swooped in.
He received the PH for being shot in the elbow while running away from his bird. He said he felt a sting, but with the adrenaline he said “I was 35 and running just as fast as those guys 10 to 15 years younger than me!”.
The Coastguard flies the Blackwhawk J Model, hence Jayhawk.
