A judge released evidence in the Karmelo Anthony murder case on Friday.
The evidence included bodycam footage of Karmelo Anthony’s arrest and pictures of the murder weapon.
Photos of Karmelo Anthony’s backpack, the murder weapon and the aftermath of the murder scene were released.
Police bodycam footage shows the moment law enforcement arrived to the track meet to arrest Karmelo Anthony after he fatally stabbed Austin Metcalf.
“This is the alleged suspect,” a police officer said during the arrest.
“I’m not alleged. I did it,” Karmelo Anthony told the police officer.

Last week, Karmelo Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison after a jury convicted him of murder in the fatal stabbing of Austin Metcalf.
Numerous witnesses testified that Karmelo Anthony was the aggressor and instigated the fight with Austin Metcalf.
Karmelo Anthony stabbed Austin Metcalf in the heart. The teen track star died in his twin brother’s arms.
19-year-old Karmelo Anthony will be eligible for parole after half time served.
He was facing 99 years in prison.
Just one day after a jury convicted him of murder, Karmelo Anthony filed a notice of appeal.
If he appeals can his sentence be made more severe?
Should have just handcuffed the little bastard to a fence and let justice be served. Quicker and cheaper. Social cleansing. We need that, social cleansing. Every herd needs thinned and it is better for all when it is. Some mistakes may be made but that happens every day now.
Hopefully, the killer boy will have somebody outside the prison waiting for him when he’s release by a bunch of fatass pancake shack waitresses on a parole board.
Spend your entire life in prison, monster.
I’ll be glad when we don’t have to hear about this kid anymore.
>>If he appeals can his sentence be made more severe?
Hope so!
It would be cool if his entire dysfunctional family could be sentenced to hard time.
Frankly, I'm appalled that the police officer would say something so blatantly nonsensical.
Regards,
That could happen in concept but would require the state to pursue such an outcome.
Until that mistake is one of your family members.
I hope they have sleepless nights FOREVER while thinking how they they cultivated this monster, instead of being the parents that NEVER talked hatred to that child in their home. You just KNOW that that kid was marinated in a steady environment of hate all his life!!!
Why did he turn down a 10 year plea deal?
“Dysfunctional” increasing applies to people in TX, or Talarico would be laughed out of the Senate race.
I put this murder right up there with the killing of Iryna Zarutska... Absolutely infuriating to watch.. :(
This is actually the correct use of "alleged suspect." The cop didn't see him do it. Somebody pointed described the perp out to the cop or described the perp to the cop. That or those persons alleged that he was the suspect. This is much different than idiot reporters describing Luigi as the "alleged shooter" when they actually have video of him pulling the trigger.
I think the odds are well in our favor
Anthony’s attorneys claim that he suffered when the judge allowed black members of the potential jury to be struck, due to racism rather than their jobs (teachers) or things they said (like, “I couldn’t sentence a baby to life in prison”). If the appellate court agrees, they would send it the case back for re-trial. If found guilty again, there would be a new penalty hearing. That could result in Life or a shorter sentence. He could even be convicted of manslaughter instead of 1st degree murder.
If I were the Prosecutor, I’d make sure that during the penalty phase, the jurors saw the pics/video of Karmelo in full gangsta thug mode, and get into claims of his history of fighting. (You can’t show these things during the regular trial).
Nervous person who lacks an alibi: "So, am I a suspect?"
Police: "No, you are only an alleged suspect."
What you've said here contradicts everything I know about American jurisprudence, accumulated over years of watching "Perry Mason" re-runs!
Regards,
He and his family really though this would be another OJ trial.
