On Wednesday via X, Donald Trump Jr. alleged that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) — an ally of President Donald Trump — is “lying thru his teeth” with his recent comments on the administration’s memorandum of understanding with Iran.
Speaking with The Daily Wire on Wednesday, Cruz said of the deal to end the conflict in the region:
What has been released so far suggests that, unfortunately, the president is getting, I think, very poor advice when it comes to this deal. History teaches that giving billions of dollars to theocratic lunatics who want to murder us is a bad idea. Under the terms of what’s been released, somewhere between $10 billion and $30 billion will flow to the Ayatollah immediately before they make even a single nuclear concession.
I think that’s ill-advised. That money, if it goes to the Ayatollah, will go to fund terrorists trying to kill Americans and weapons that will be used to try to kill Americans. And it also appears to formalize a permanent role for the Islamic regime controlling the Strait of Hormuz. It is difficult to see what possible benefit to America could come from that.
He continued:
Donald Trump Jr. @DonaldJTrumpJr
The only problem with this quote is that @tedcruz is lying thru his teeth about the deal. We're not giving them a cent and he knows that. Using fake news about the peace deal to undermine @realDonaldTrump is the opposite of MAGA.
Benjamin Domenech @bdomenech
"Nearly one thousand Americans have been murdered by the Ayatollah and the mullahs... It is not remotely in America’s interest for us to pay to rebuild that capacity that we just took out." - @tedcruz @realDailyWire dailywire.com/news/instant-r…

I'm reluctant to stand up for Cruz, but his comment was 100% accurate: Iran will reap hundreds of billions from this settlement.
Don, Jr., accuses Cruz of claiming the money was coming from the US. HE DIDN'T SAY THAT. But whether it comes from un-freezing their own funds or from corralling Gulf states into a "reconstruction fund," the end result is that the mullahs will have a cookie jar of a third of a trillion. For purely peaceful purposes, no doubt.
Define “Giving”.
This is like it depends on what the word “is” is.
Giving our money to the mullahs...no that’s not happening. But freeing up billions of seized assets back to the Mullahs is happening. So yes we are giving back the mullah’s money that we have previously seized.
O, crap. Come on.
FWIW, I just read the funds would only be used by neighboring countries to invest in rebuilding Iran.
I (and Cruz) never said otherwise.
The net effect is that the IRCG will be enriched, and that’s before the cockamamie “reconstruction” fund kicks in.
That’s not the $24 billion that’ll be unfrozen. And as for “rebuilding,” do you think we’ll have KMPG auditing on site?
The America First vs GOP/Trump loyalists vs Israel 1st battle is truly an awesome spectacle to behold. The wheat is being separated from the chaff.
I’m an America First Jacksonian. Fight EmWars to win and destroy the enemy or don’t fight them at all.
The money for “Rebuilding” would go towards rebuilding Hezbollah..the Iranian regime could care less about its own people, they kill their own people for looking at them funny. I still say we are being played, this is just a rouse to lower the price of gas, and after the midterms, mark it down, November 5th, we bomb Iran again
Many here aren’t interested in hearing the truth. They want more war.
What countries? The countries around Iran are not really it’s allies. I don’t see them welcoming them being involved.
Not true .And to say that makes us look as bad as what we accuse the Iranians of.
Think will ya? If Trump was stopping that debacle so that he wins the midterms, it tells us something. That is the majority of the people were not for this war.
The younger Iranians, some of whom I know personally, have ZERO appetite for aggression.
Bombing them into oblivion would only further delay the organic change the country is ripe for and rob yet another generation of a chance at a better life.
The regime sucks for now, but lifting sanctions and opening the country up holds a lot of promise.
God is good. And so many of them have been praying.
I agree with you on Don jr.
But, whatever, MY WAR IS WITH THE LEFTIST SCUM HERE
I think we will blow them up again in due time.
We have experience.
Yeah the majority wasn’t for war but even a war that most want I think all would agree if we had actually won and taken down this regime it would have meant something
exactly
Media are telling us that somehow Trump is now locked-in to a box of behaviors and constraints.
NO, he is not
Trump will not be constrained by this.
When the time is right, if he feels it necessary, he will declare Iran has abrogated the agreement. No doubt, he’s giving them a long enough leash to do so.
I voted for the Donald Trump who campaigned for more than a decade against these stupid Middle East wars. I’m baffled about what motivated him to move forward with this latest fiasco in February, especially since this “deal” was negotiated by a President who basically painted himself into a corner for no good reason.
