The Christchurch shooter was an accelerationist, his manifesto said he wanted to cause draconian gun control in the USA because he thought that was the only place and subject that still might revolt against something. But it’s definitely not solely a right wing thing. To my understanding it’s just a term that means wanting to precipitate civil revolt sooner rather than later for whatever purpose, it could be cultural usurpation from migrants or ‘fighting the capitalist oligarchs’.
