A teenage girl was hospitalized after a male suspect knifed her in the neck in England on Friday, according to reports.
The barbaric attack unfolded at around 3 p.m. in Burnley, a town in Lancashire.
The 17-year-old victim can be seen strolling along a sidewalk when a man suddenly runs up behind her and plunges a blade into her throat and neck at least twice, leaked surveillance footage shows.
The assailant can be seen bouncing and menacing in apparent excitement following the vicious ambush.
A 30-year-old male was arrested at the scene, GB News reports.
The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries but is reportedly expected to survive.
Local residents and U.K. commentators have indicated the suspect may be a ‘migrant.’
British authorities, who often withhold critical information about violent crime suspects, have not yet corroborated those claims.
The attack comes hours after an 86-year-old woman’s throat was slit in France.
Just days ago, a Sudanese migrant was arrested while attempting to behead a man in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
