Freddy the German Tourist Has Some Surprising Experiences As His Journey Across America Continues
Red State ^ | June 12, 2026 | Nick Arama

We've been covering the story of Europeans in the U.S. for the World Cup, traversing America, finding the wonderful things that we have here, and maybe take for granted. It's been a joy, especially as we celebrate our 250th birthday, to see just how much love visiting Europeans like Freddy from Germany have for us.

Freddy even made it to those quintessential American spots — Waffle House and Buc-ee's, even getting a picture with the Beaver.

German Tourist Charms the Internet As He Discovers the Wonders of the U.S.

Freddy has continued to make his way through the south, driving from Alabama to Louisiana.

Look at how beautiful it is. He posted about being in a place "that’s so beautiful I’m probably about to make 50 posts about it."

He then posted saying he was in Fairhope, Alabama.

But he had more fun yet to experience as he discovered yet another iconic place, a Bass Pro Shop. He thought it was amazing.

Freddy also fell for the songs of Ella Langley as he and his crew were driving, and he posted about how he was listening to her on the radio. So, in a wonderful response, the folks at a local radio station gave him and his crew a shoutout.

The most surreal thing of our trip so far. Currently driving towards Louisiana and the radio station we were listening to started talking about our trip and played Ella Langley especially for us😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/8mJjP39TnV— Freddy🇩🇪 (@FreddyLA7) June 11, 2026

How cool is that?

Then he made it to New Orleans.

At this point, Freddy's journey has been enjoyed by so many that it even got the attention of the White House Rapid Response account. "Welcome to America!" the White House said.

Now that's probably something Freddy didn't expect on his travels. Freddy may just have hit legendary status, making everyone see how great America is. He should stick around for some of the 250th birthday celebrations; he'd probably really enjoy Washington, D.C., too, for all the history. He's supposed to be going to Houston — wait until he gets to a Whataburger.

But it's nice just to see him discovering places that aren't as well known, and taking us along for the ride as he enjoys their simple beauty.

I went to a what-a-burger in San Antonio and ordered a green chili double burger. They never heard of it.

I explained I ordered them all the time in Arizona.

Go figure. No green chilis in Texas

Not the Bee had an article on CNN being shocked that the tourists experienced friendliness in the south. LOL

We need much more of this.
The MSM shows the riots, the homeless, drugs and shootings.
Heck I live here and there are days I want to leave with the constant bad news.

I was born and raised here, as were many of my forefathers before me. America the beautiful still takes my breath away. My biggest sorrow, now that I’m retired but have cancer, is not that it will shorten my life (tomorrow is promised to no one and I’ve probably lived a longer and better life than I deserve), but it keeps me from extensively traveling to places in our beautiful land that I’ll never see this side of eternity.

The MSM shows the riots, the homeless, drugs and shootings.

Which is the narrative they want to create for all of us. Only the ruling elite can live in gated communities in their "castles".

Will they make a movie about Freddy of the sort they made about Borat?

"an article on CNN being shocked that the tourists experienced friendliness in the south. LOL"

What else would anyone expect. CNN is completely separated from reality. They have no idea what's going on.

I love Bass Pro Shop. I use to spend all day at the one in Grapevine when I had to go to Dallas.

...now that I think about it... I never saw a German flag the entire time I lived in Germany, aside from the capitol building.

Green chile burgers are a thing in New Mexico. Even at McD’s.

I bought a shotgun at Bass Pro. It took two visits to pick one. There were a lot of choices.
