Wendy's announced that it will be testing something calling "dynamic pricing." Will you pay more for the same product?
Dynamic pricing at fast food restaurants means your favorite sandwich or chicken nuggets could cost more -- or less -- depending on what time of day you go. The busier the restaurant is, the more it'll cost you. Dynamic pricing is similar to the surge pricing model used on apps like Uber or Lyft, waltham forest where prices go up and down based on customer demand.
Food industry experts say dynamic pricing could soon take over the entire industry in the next few years as companies look to maximize sporting kc vs portland profits. Wendy's just happens to be the first major fast food chain to give it a test in the American market
In the final quarter of 2025, The Wendy's Company reports that same-store sales dipped a whopping 11.3% in the U.S., capping off a year that saw an overall reduction in sales ofย 5.6% in the U.S. and 3.5% globally. Right alongside these negative financials, Wendy's stock price took a battering over the same period. Shares were valued at over $16 at the beginning of 2025, but by the start of 2026 they had lost about half of their value, dropping down to just over $8. Evidence of the company's financial struggles extend beyond stock tickers and earnings reports, however, manifesting in ways that affect both consumers and employees.

sounds more like price gouging.
All their stores have closed around here, NE Alabama. Only one drive-thru only style store down on I20 between Birmingham and the GA line is all I am aware of.

It’s your operations from cleanliness to service and speed that is the problem
Wait for the first headline “Black Group Claims Prices Go Up Only for Black Customers at Wendy’s” and then duck.
In my various visits to Asia, west and east, dynamic pricing meant asking “how much?”, shaking my head, and then slowly walking away. Just before disappearing below the horizon, I’d hear the real price shouted out to me. Dynamic.
Happy Hour?
Hahahaha F no
My brother worked for a food manufacturer so I’ve heard all the B.S. that they use to rip off consumers.
When I mentioned that yogurt cups were smaller but that they cost more, he said that was simply “portion control,” as if that explained anything.
I don’t go to Wendy’s or any other fast food restaurants. They all suck.
Wendy’s in my city is never crowded.
My dynamic price might be negative.....
If they do this, I will not walk into a Wendy’s ever again. Wendy’s (and all the others who do this) are not worth it. Dave must be rolling over in his grave to what they have done to his baby.
This concept is a sure business killer.
Sell your Wendy's stock right now while you can still get something for it.
Yeah, NO!
So their business is failing, and the remedy is to make the customers’ experience WORSE? Sounds like a plan. ๐๐ตโ๐ซ
We lost two of our three Wendy’s and the one that’s left is SLOOOOOOW...............
They can stuff their already overpriced burger crap. I won’t be stopping by.
I’m testing dynamic buying. This is where I don’t buy something that’s too expensive.
No.
I will cook my own food.
Wendyโs is in a death spiral.
Bummer.
