Dems help defeat Rashida Tlaib’s puzzling Lebanon war powers resolution — where US is ‘not in conflict’

Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s (D-Mich.) Lebanon war powers resolution was shut down Thursday, with the majority of House Democrats rejecting the “Squad” rep’s effort.

In the floor vote, 117 Democrats voted against her resolution, and 91 voted in favor, resulting in a 92-324 defeat of Tlaib’s attempt to limit potential Trump administration military options in Lebanon.

Tlaib insisted Israel was carrying out an “ethnic cleansing campaign,” and Congress must intervene to stop the “war crime.”

“The Trump administration is helping in greenlighting these attacks,” she said, as Israel seeks to root out the Hezbollah terror threat in Lebanon as a second front to the war against Iran.

Her Lebanon War Powers resolution divided her own Democratic Party and was rebuked by House Republicans. The resolution would have directed President Trump to remove armed forces “from Lebanon” within seven days after its adoption.

But House Democratic leadership, including Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), came out against her resolution by citing a practical reality. “There are no US servicemembers involved in combat operations or hostilities in Lebanon,” Jeffries said in a statement.

Republicans, like Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.), similarly noted that Tlaib was demanding the removal of US forces “from a country where we are not in conflict.”

The debate over the resolution got personal when Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio) accused Tlaib of supporting Hezbollah and suggested she enjoys the company of terrorists.

What a tool.

For the record, the house I grew up in is literally at the geographic center of her district. My mom passed two years ago (the day Trump was shot) and we just got it on contract for sale last week - closing 30 June.

How could anyone be so stupid is to introduce this bill? Equally concerning, how could so many democrats be so hate filled as to vote for it?

Was this just posturing for some warped segment of their constituency?

It would be nice if that 2-legged political infection were labelled (D-Detroit) instead of scumming up the entire state and the upper Midwest. That ghetto seat was held by Conyers for over half a century.

Make sure her mail in ballot is sent to you and not the new owners.

No, I live in Virginia now - for over 25 years. But here’s the thing. If I go log on to the Virginia website I can confirm I am a registered voter and I can get my voting record (which elections I voted in, not how I voted).

I can also log on to the Michigan website and, lo and behold, after nearly 30 years since I last voted in the state of Michigan I am *still* a registered voter (when I registered to vote in Virginia they ASSURED me there was voter reciprocity with Michigan and Michigan would be informed to take me off their voter rolls). But, and here’s the cute part, I *can’t* get my Michigan voting record online. If I click on the link for that, it tells me to go to my local precinct to request my voting record.

Yeah. I’m sure NO ONE has voted in my name in Michigan at all in almost 30 years.

By the way - in 2020 - Michigan *did* send me a ballot - to my address in Virginia.

And, yes, I have reached out to EVERY person who has publicly come forward to state the are investigating voter fraud in Michigan saying I’ll gladly swear an affidavit I have not voted in Michigan this millennium, and not one of them has ever responded to my email.

Hizbullah must be eradicated, yes. They will never stop the Islamist terrorism otherwise. There is no other way. They believe they are required by the Koran, and it is truly compliant of Hizbullah, to murder all Jews and Christians. That is the Muslim faith.

Read the Koran and you will understand. It is a satanic plague on earth.

“ethnic cleansing campaign,”

Oh...it’s all about the labeling.....

When the Democrats say ‘Democracy’ they are talking about the 1.46 million people with the same signature voting in NY State elections. ‘Democracy’ is when ballots are ‘harvested’ (taken out of people’s mail) and filled out by operatives. ‘Democracy’ is when the machine askes you to review your vote....but only for the threats against democratic candidates. That’s what ‘Democracy’ means to the Democrat.

“ethnic cleansing campaign,” is what they call it when anybody starts killing Iranian supported terrorist groups that murder, rape, destroy, and kill. Targeting monsters is now called “Ethnic Cleansing Campaign” not Killing of Monstrous Terrorists and their networks.

It’s all in the the Labeling. Me thinks, like the line from Princess Bride, “I don’t think you really know what that word means”.

They're destroying entire villages of Christians from southern Lebanon and shooting anyone who won't leave or tries to come back. What do you prefer to call it when jews destroy christian homes and slaughter them while refusing their right to stay on their own lands?

“They’re destroying entire villages of Christians from southern Lebanon and shooting anyone who won’t leave or tries to come back.”

I prefer to call it what it is, Hezbollah and Iran. Lebanon didn’t have a problem before the Iranian revolution and ‘expansion’ into Lebanon. That’s what happened in the 1980’s, back this stuff started, and Iran was behind it. The US sent UN peacekeepers, and the Iranians bombed them because they wanted to take over Lebanon. Israel, like them or not, didn’t start this conflict and isn’t responsible for all of the death and destruction, IRAN IS.

Israelis are destroying christian villages that are centuries old, but you sleep better pretending it's Iranians.

Understood.

No, it’s the Iranians. They started the conflict, they continue to support Hezbollah and the militias. The Christians are just caught in the middle of a 50 year war.

The question people like you should be asking, is why did Iran feel the need to get involved in Lebanon in the first place? Are Christians safe in territories influenced by Iran? Do you ever grow weary of repeating Iranian propaganda, because I have been over the Iranians since 1979.
