Country superstar Garth Brooks eyes possible $2BILLION deal for his music catalog - the biggest deal for a single artist

Garth Brooks is one of the biggest names in country music with 20 songs topping the Billboard charts and a career that has spanned over three decades.

And now, the superstar, 64, is reportedly eyeing a possible $2 billion deal for his impressive music catalog, as reported by the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.

The sale would consist of Brooks's songwriting and recorded music rights.

The singer-songwriter has reportedly been in talks with investors, with valuations for his discography ranging between $1 billion and over $2 billion.

If the deal goes through, it will be the largest for a solo artist in history – beating out even the $1.2 billion valuation of pop icon Michael Jackson's catalog.

Throughout his 36-year career Brooks has sold more than 200 million units in the United States alone, per the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

His life's work has seen him collect a Kennedy Center Honor, two Grammy Awards, and the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize.

His most famous songs include the 1990 blue-collar anthem Friends in Low Places, The Dance (1990), The Thunder Rolls (1991) and the 2007 chart topper More Than a Memory.

"Brooks's", sheesh, idiocracy. This guy is a moon bat and an asshole, remember what this jerk said about not wanting normal people in his Nashville bar?

While not directly his fault I will still blame him for ruining modern country music.

From AI. The debate over whether Garth Brooks “ruined” country music centers on his role in shifting the genre toward a pop-oriented, commercially driven sound that prioritized mass appeal over traditional authenticity.

Yep. A country superstar is someone like Glen Campbell or Roy Clark. Not someone that strums a guitar like a prop and sings off key.

Kansas state fair in early nineties.
WORST show I ever sat through.
I’m unsure what contributed most.

The 45 minute late start...
The 104 decibel Coke commercials during the late start..
Or the downwind odor of his groupies, who were obviously not toilet trained.

I loved his music. I wish he wasn’t a leftist. But check out Brooks Jefferson on spotify...he really nails his voice.

I hope he sales his catalog so I can listen to it again.
