Mole people? Crocodile catchers? Mario brothers? A series of bizarre sightings of people popping in and out of New York City’s vast subterranean sewer system has the city wondering what exactly is going on, with police now probing the underground mystery.
Some wore headlamps and carried what appeared to be shovels and other tools. One narrowly missed getting run over by a vehicle as they pulled themselves out of the ground.
“They look like they were looking for something important, like money, or for doing some type of hurting,” he said. “Ain’t no fun and games. I mean, seven grown adults going down there? Got to be something, man.”

I crawled in the sewer drains when I was a youngster.
Well, if they are trying to tunnel into the gold vaults to steal gold, they are in for an unpleasant surprise when all they find are the empty rooms.
And that’s what the Sewer Patrol should do, before something happens. Like a very large explosion,

When the novel (May, 1895) and much later movie (1960) of the Time Machine came out, no one thought the human race would evolve (devolve) into prancing, sissified Eloi (our audiences at drag queen shows and trans events) and the vulgar Morlocks (our Dems, socialists, antifa, BLM and woke young people). It is happening. Two meeting each other: Rep. Al Green and Talarico.
At my university, there were old, disused steam tunnels connecting all the older buildings on campus.
A small group of us explored them, and we even found an unlocked path into the University President’s office. At this point, we realized the nature of our trespassing, and possible consequences, so didn’t press our luck.
We weren’t the only ones. We found graffiti and beer cans / liquor bottles from as early as the 1940s down there.
In the “Beauty and the Beast” TV show there was a whole kingdom under ground.
Investigators are baffled. They made up some lie; it was just people that lost something down manhole.
Maybe they’re trying to get free cable. Utilities often share tunnel lines so they don’t have to dig new routes. Or they could be tapping phones.
I gotta find me a copy of that!

If you mean the movie, the great 1960 one with effects crafted by George Pal had not one moment of the later CGI effects. All frame by frame motion as the first King Kong.
Has been one of my top favorite movies since I saw it at age 13.
The horrible and disrespectful remake in 2002 ruins everything and pushes climate change and Third World people in some sort of rain forest evolution. Bad.
