Straus Family Creamery announced a voluntary recall for some of their ice cream flavors because of the potential for metal fragments in the desserts.
The recall, announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on May 15, said that Straus Family Creamery is “working with retailers to remove the potentially affected products from shelves.”
Those products are in 17 states — Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.

WTF!! I started buying them in the last two weeks because they have the simplest recipe. They are also the most expensive at 11 dollars for a quart and 8 for a pint. Still it’s the best tasting of all of the brands. I am going to start making my own.
I haven’t had ice cream in I don’t know how long. At least a year.
Joe Biden Most Affected ...
Metal fragments in one’s ice cream are never a good thing.
Can’t get past the ad blocker ad. :-(
it’s pretty simple to make it. I use kitchen aid ice cream attachment. hope you try making it and enjoy.
If I need to buy ice cream, I never saw Strauss brand near me so, I usually get Haagen Das or turkey hill naturals or whatever it’s called, and only the flavors without the corn syrup, emulsifiers and etc etc junk.
Guess what beloved American icon is having private jets fly in replacement ice cream for her home freezers?
Dessert Storm photos....
But he is keeping quiet about it.
In his “cone of silence.”
Rarely touch ice cream myself.
Partly the sugar and mostly because I have very cold sensitive teeth.
Ice cream needs to be almost liquid sometimes for me to not to wince.
Pelousy is doubly concerned. All of her “Professional Ballot/Vote Counters” usually get mass quantities of ice cream for those “after election day ballot harvesting” sessions. Sometimes it takes up to a week after of “counting, harvesting” to get the desired result.
Nancy Pelosi also saddened
this is the kind of food contamination only heard about in 4th world countries
Is this all from a central plant? What is there in the process that would introduce that many particles into that much ice cream? Quality control problem?
Clever!
I eat ice cream very slowly. Everyone else is always finished before I am. I like it to get a little melty, too.
Hmmm, nothing says dessert like metal fragments.
That’s their newest flavor: Stainless Steel..........
Nancy is not saddened. She eats Jeni’s ice cream, out of Columbus, OH. Remember her sub-zero freezer she showed all of us during CoVid lockdowns? Filled with Jeni’s that cost the rest of us an arm and a leg.
BTW, my two favorite ice cream brands are Jeni’s and Graeter’s, both out of Columbus. Ok, Graeter’s is out of Westerville, but if you don’t know the area, then Columbus is close enough.
I’m lucky enough that I can now find both of them in Indiana.
The old buzzard that just won’t die?
