Terms of Agreement
American Thinker ^ | 24 May, 2026 | Clarice Feldman

Those who know what’s happening aren’t talking, and news outlets like Axios and Reuters, who can’t possibly have inside information, are.

I've been watching reports all Friday and Saturday, tracking reports of events in Iran. It seems to me that those who know what’s happening aren’t talking, and news outlets like Axios and Reuters, who can’t possibly have inside information, are. I disregard as unlikely the accounts of terms of any agreement which do not come from official sources.

Yes, there are some credible signs that we are reaching a critical juncture in the negotiations: The President abandoned his plans to attend his son’s wedding in Florida to return to the White House. The Vice President made an unscheduled return from Ohio to D.C., where all of the top cabinet officers are said to be assembled. Pizza sales at shops near the Pentagon are soaring, usually a sign of a planned military operation. If it weren’t so important to know what’s going on, I’d be laughing at the predictable online rumors and responses to the made-up news accounts of terms of agreement:

- Once again, it is rumored online that Mojtabhi Khamenei has been killed.

- Some report that Israeli planes have already taken off to strike Iran.

- The pessimists argue that nothing short of war will work because Iran can’t be trusted

- The Left and the hawks both argue that Trump sold us out.

- The pro-Palestinians yammer that Bibi is angry, and, alternatively, that Trump is his puppet.

- Anti-Administration posters repeat that Witkoff sold us out.

- Non-interventionists argue that we should leave it to the Iranians to oust the regime.

- Moronic lefties claim Trump is going to get a deal no better than the one their sainted Obama got. (Seriously, that’s their claim.)

At some point the citizens will have to take care of the radical islamists. I only see one way to deal with them.

The actions and locations of the key parties in US are more consistent with war than negotiating.

Initial reports from the MSM look bad. Very bad.

But consider the source.

I don't see Trump agreeing to:
let them keep their enriched uranium,
provide billions of dollars in payments/relief,
stop the Israelis military actions in Lebanon,
remove all US forces from the region,
and turn over control of the Hormuz Straights to a consortium of Arab nations.

But that's essentially the way the "deal" is being reported.

I do not believe Trump would sell America out like this, so the MSM must be lying. Or we are cooked.

The rumors about Big Mo's death have been greatly exaggerated.

The “all-knowing” Israeli intel assured Trump (none of which happened) that by bombing Iran:
<><>Iran’s ballistic missile program could be “destroyed” in weeks.
<><>The regime would be “too weak” to close the Strait of Hormuz.
<><>Street protests — fomented with Mossad help — could “trigger an uprising.”
<><>Kurdish fighters from Iraq could “open a ground front” in the northwest.

Trump responded: “Sounds good to me.”

Any differences between Israeli Intel propaganda and the average FR poster require a microscope to identify.

Remember—first deny they have any influence at all.

Then celebrate the influence they have.

Lol.

The multilateral meeting the President mentioned is but one of many in process for a very long time.

The coalition of the Abraham Accord nations and Saudi Arabia have almost certainly been coordinating thought and action since before the beginning. All the Arab states consider the outcome of dealing with Iran as existential. Turkey is included as a courtesy.

Clarice is stating that we don’t know what we don’t know. The reason we don’t know is because it is secret. We have no clue as to the intelligence inpur of the Gulf States. We have no clue as to what is really happening within Iran.

The coalition knows. They are making a determinative action that will end the Iranian threat and satisfy history

Reporting on war and peace is much too important to be left to the media.

I agree that iran can't be trusted, but, since we are leaving our troops in place, Trump can always push the button if he thinks we are just being played.

If we have to go back to bombing, I'd rather do it now than in a month, but President Trump has more insight into this than we do, so, we'll see what happens.

Jim Quinn, the ex-DJ, conservative talking head from Pittsburgh, is somewhere playing his favorite parody song, "Bomb, Bomb Iran". Too bad he went ace/deuce before this happened.

The IRGC is still very numerous and wants to maintain power, for self-preservation reasons, if no other. They must be treated as the Nazi SS was treated after World War II.

You noticed that, too?

Repeating:
If the U.S. is engaged in a shooting war with Iran and the price of gas is still high in November because the Strait of Hormuz is closed, Republics lose seats they would have otherwise won in Congress and elsewhere in the midterms. Trump needs to wind this down at least until after election day. He’s smarter than this.

Your post seems most likely to be closest to actual facts.

Maybe he’s waiting for after the primaries to weed out a few more RINOs and wackos and let the unelectable crazy socialists win primaries.
