I’m not sure how much good it will do.
Thune is ticked off about Trump endorsing Paxton so has taken his toys and gone home. He just declared a ten day recess. The Senate is going to do nothing that might help the Trump administration for the next 6 months. Get used to it.
Our hope is that in November we have enough America-first Senators elected that Thune can be told to go pound sand.
So what’s the difference if the Rats win?
Might as well get rid of all the RINOs.
I expected some concerns about this vote. After all, this is a conservative website.
At about 3% of the home market this will have zero impact on housing costs. But it will make everyone feel good. Sounds like something the commie democrats would do.

And if you have no offers on your house and you must move for a new job and Blackrock (or another investor) calls, too bad.
You’ll either have to give up the new job you won’t be able to move to, or you can try to rent your house yourself, and if that does not work you can let the mortgage company auction your house, maybe they’ll get at least the balance of what you owe; you’ll get zilch but be relieved of your mortgage; though you’ll have no profit to help fund a home where you are moving to.
Investor owned single family homes are NOT a material portion of all single family homes. There are a number of things wrong that are influencing “affordability” of housing. Investor owned homes are not the culprit.
Populism trumps economics again. The Left and the Right unite in ignorance and blaming a convenient unpopular scapegoat.
A real recess or a fake gavel in, gavel out recess?
If real, Trump can do recess appointments.
But the Senate is a little busy protesting the Paxton endorsement so to bad America!

1. Monday is Memorial Day. Many legislators use Memorial Day for meet and great and events with constituents, particularly in an election year.
2. This legislation (the “affordable housing” measure), (a) may be “popular”, but (b) is based on false ideas, (c) will not materially affect “housing affordability”, so (d) its not really important.
I’d figure the Democrat plan would include a part where they provide $$$$ to invaders so they can buy homes..
1 company having the resources to buy each home in America for 5m over its actual value COULD be a problem. If “purity” tells you to leave every houser in the hands of 1 company you may be Rand Paul

My friends there is a libertarian streak in all of us and this sounds unfair. So tell me, is this true to our principals?
