The one-year deal is worth up to $25M with $22M guaranteed
Aaron Rodgers is returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers — again. Finally.
The four-time NFL MVP agreed to a one-year contract worth $22 million guaranteed with the Steelers on Saturday, a source confirmed. The deal can climb to $25 million with incentives.
The Steelers had expected this to be the case perhaps weeks or even months ago, but Rodgers took his methodical, sweet time before committing. Now, it's happening.
So, we are about to witness Rodgers in his 22nd NFL season at age 42 (and 43 when that comes along in December). And it all begins on Monday when Rodgers joins the team on the field for OTA practices.
This is all a good thing.
It's good for the Steelers, who have no other plausible starting quarterback with enough experience and accomplishments to make them a contender.
It's good for Rodgers, who gets at least one more chance to go out on top as the Hollywood scriptwriters might imagine.
And it's good for the NFL because this adds another entertaining storyline and a still fine player to the 2026 season.

Hope he can hold up for the whole season.
As a Steelers fan, well, ugh. I think I need to go puke. I was really hoping they’d tell him to pound salt and start one of their young guys. If they stink, oh well, they get a high pick in the draft and can try another young QB. If one of them is good, you have your QB going forward. Now they’ll just win 9-10 games like always. Either miss the playoffs or get blown out on WC weekend like always. Draft somewhere in the 20s like always. Have no viable QB to start next year, like always.
Even if Rodgers has one last great year in him, so what? They aren’t a real contender anyway. They need another year or two to really build a great roster. Rodgers will NOT be the QB the next time the Steelers are a contender no matter what happens this year. Allan or Howard MIGHT be. Probably unlikely but at least there is a chance. It’s time to move on, but they just won’t do it
So they got rid of Pickens. Then lost game-changer Kenny Gainwell to Tampa. Who the hell is Rodgers supposed to throw to all season? DK Metcalf?
2011 super bowl Greenbay vs: Steeler kneelers.
Laughed my ass off at the finger wearers, always been a Packers fan. And Rodgers is the Man desplte being with the kneelers now. Maybe he will teach standing up straight and proud to them.
I see what you’re saying. Maybe he’ll have a decent season at age 42. But there’s no way they can be building for the future with a 42 year old quarterback.
If I could make $20M for throwing a ball around I’d play as long as I could to. It’s just a game, anyway.
Rodgers has already made more money in his career than any other player though, so he’s probably still playing to break the last few Favre records he can. The consecutive games streak, and INT ones, are untouchable though.
After that beating, he took against Houston, I would be thinking about his long-term health!
Good for A. A. Ron.
