I have always thought we should allow conditions on which citizens could pierce the corporate veil in tort cases to hold individuals accountable rather relying on government agencies to confront corporations as persons. Just an idea on my part without a clue as to how it would be achieved.

These two powerful corporations now control a majority of U.S. government infrastructure, from healthcare to defense.
’Downsizing government’ - has been a conservative mantra for decades.
Most of us believed that downsizing would result in a more efficient and responsive government, in saving money and lowering taxes.
’Downsizing government’ actually meant ‘outsourcing government,’ and that when implemented, the downsizing wouldn’t actually lower taxes or save money. It would just reroute federal funds to the corporate winners.
That the act of downsizing, and the reasons for it - are really about building surveillance infrastructure.
Just like illegal immigration has been the excuse for building surveillance infrastructure currently in use: biometric scanning in public, and a complex nationwide road surveillance system. Neither of these systems contain protections for American citizens, although they are creepy enough when used just for illegals.
The inner workings of our government are now controlled by private companies with little oversight.
The template currently being implemented will be a self-sustaining government model, largely powered by AI.
The government will save hundreds of billions of dollars annually. But the savings won’t be used to pay down debt or benefit taxpayers. There will ALWAYS be a new need for funds, new excuses why they can’t lower taxes, and why those powerful (not American) interests who game the current system, as they have for decades - will continue to devour the capital produced by the labor of Americans.
That’s how the system was built and nothing changes, except ALOT less freedom for the people who pay for it all.
