Eric Clapton left his concert early after he was hit in the chest by an object thrown by a fan.
The 81-year-old guitarist was performing a show in Madrid, Spain, on May 7 when he was struck by what appeared to be a vinyl record. Fan captured video showed Clapton walking along the stage to applause from the crowd before he was hit by the object.
According to Guitar World, Clapton had left the stage, then returned to perform an encore. After being hit by the object, he didn't go through with the encore.
It did not appear that Clapton was injured or too fazed by the flying object – he performed his May 10 show in Barcelona as scheduled.
Similar incidents have involved Billie Eilish, Nick Jonas, Kelsea Ballerini and Bebe Rexha, the latter suffering a black eye after being struck by a phone during a show. Many artists have publicly criticized the trend, arguing that throwing items onstage is not harmless fan behavior but a genuine safety issue.

Slowhand
Where is Roger Daltry and his flying microphone when you need him?
No stinkin video playable at link
After a hockey puck killed a young girl in the stands the NHL put up netting in all arenas to prevent that from ever happening again. After the Pieta in the Vatican was attacked and damaged by a crazy you can only view the restored statue from a distance now. I expect similar preventative measures if this keeps up although venues are so widely different it might be difficult to implement exactly the same in every case.
Yup- the last time Led Zeppelin played at Madison Square Garden, June 14, 1977, the concert was cut short after a fan threw firecrackers on stage and hit Jimmy Page in the hand....
Here’s a video of Neal Schon of Journey getting his with a beer bottle (narrated by John Facenda of all people)

Well at least it wasn’t like Dimebag Darrell.
It’s a two-way street. I was at a Mötley Crüe concert in Billings Montana back in the 80s and I saw one of the band members throw hard an empty bottle of Jack Daniels into the audience. I always wondered if anyone got hit by it.
Put up chicken wire. Worked for the Blues Brothers.
Fee Waybill of The Tubes would hit softballs into the audience.
Recently saw a video of a Nickelback concert in Portugal, where rocks were being thrown from the audience at the stage
Several were thrown and the singer admonished the crowd.
One then hit the singer in the head, and he cancelled the show.
Is this a new “thing” in diverse Europe?
Lol Rush had a great time with that
Ringo Starr once related that sometimes during concerts, when the fans knew the show was about to end, they started throwing objects at the stage, including flashbulbs. John, Paul, and George, being in the front, took the brunt of this, which caused Ringo to say he was glad at such times to be sitting toward the back and slightly elevated. I guess the teen girls couldn’t throw quite that far.
LOL! Great scene.
“All it takes is one jackass to F it up for everybody.” Yep, and guess who was the jackass that committed adultery with George Harrison’s wife.
I can understand throwing rocks at Nickleback. 😎/s
This is not the WNBA, people!
