If you needed another reminder that the state of California needs help, this should do the trick.
Eileen Wang, the mayor of the city of Arcadia, has just been charged with acting as a foreign agent for China. She was posting information on a supposed news website that was basically regime-approved propaganda from the Chinese Communist Party.
How many more sleepers like Wang are out there? It’s disturbing to consider that possibility, isn’t it?

Eileen Wang, the mayor of Arcadia, California, has been charged with acting as an illegal foreign agent for China, the Justice Department announced on Monday.
Wang agreed to plead guilty, the Justice Department said.
Starting in late 2020 Wang and Yaoning “Mike” Sun worked together to operate a website called U.S. News Center that “purported to be a news source for the local Chinese-American community.”
The Justice Department said in a plea agreement that Wang and Sun “received and executed directives from PRC (People’s Republic of China) government officials to post pro-PRC content on the website, and sometimes sought approval from PRC government officials to circulate other pro-PRC content.”
In one instance in November 2021, Wang wanted to circulate an article about the Chinese and Russian ambassador asking for Americans to respect the PRC’s “democratic rights.”

The mayor of Arcadia, California, has been charged in federal court with acting as an illegal agent of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), the Justice Department announced today.
Eileen Wang, 58, of Arcadia, is charged via information with one count of acting in the United States as an illegal agent of a foreign government.
In a related filing, Wang has agreed to plead guilty to the felony count, which comes with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
She is expected to make her initial appearance this afternoon in U.S. District Court in downtown Los Angeles. Wang is expected to plead guilty in the coming weeks.
Wang was elected in November 2022 to the Arcadia City Council, a five-person governing body from which the mayor is selected on a rotating basis.
By the way, there are others like this out there.

Pelosi has weighed in on potential heirs to her Congressional seat — giving a nod to a left-wing Asian pol. Pelosi lavished praise on Connie Chan, a member of the Board of Supervisors representing west side neighborhoods.
“She’d be a great member of Congress,” Pelosi said, per the San Francisco Standard. Pelosi said it’d be “very exciting” to send an Asian American to Congress. (San Francisco is roughly one-third Asian American.)
Polls show Chan — a union favorite endorsed by Sen. Adam Schiff, SEIU California and the San Francisco Labor Council-— trailing badly.
Connie Chan is Chinese, born in Hong Kong and raised in Taiwan, and currently serves as a San Francisco Supervisor, w/ a background as a community organizer and legislative aide.

Why is this a surprise. People have forgotten the illegal Chinese owned labs in Tulare, Fresno, and Reedley in the central valley of California of which one was moved by the owners after previously being in Las Vegas, one burned down, and one was busted by the county yet no one seems to be responsible for their being there at all with a false purpose and having hundreds of lab rats and illegal products. How come no one was held responsible for their being at any of the three locations in the central valley of California, their owner having a false address in Clovis while living in Oakland, and their illegal and dangerous operations.
And the same thing happened in Las Vegas...no one is responsible. But they may have been able to cloak it as the Las Vegas Police raided a building in north Vegas tied into the same guy, Jia Bei Zhu (also known as David He), in February of this year and found a storage of the same things they had in Reedley...just more of it. Who’s responsible...no one?

Mortgage/Occupancy Allegations (2025-2026): During his 2026 campaign for Congress in California, critics alleged he committed mortgage or occupancy fraud by listing a home in Maryland as his primary residence for several years while actually residing elsewhere, a charge discussed in local San Francisco media and on Reddit.

A Southern California mayor refused to comment on her former fiancé and campaign staffer, who was sentenced to four years in federal prison for “acting as an illegal agent of the People’s Republic of China.”
Last week, Arcadia Mayor Eileen Wang’s former fiancé, Yaoning “Mike” Sun, was sentenced to four years in federal prison for acting as an illegal agent of a foreign government.
Wang has not been accused of any wrongdoing in connection with the case and refused to comment on it during Arcadia’s first City Council meeting since the sentencing.
Sun pleaded guilty in October 2025 to one count of acting as an illegal agent of a foreign government from at least 2022 to January 2024, when he “knowingly acted within the United States as an agent” of China, without notifying the attorney general, according to a news release from the Department of Justice.
Sun, 55, worked with a person referred to as “Individual 1” from 2020 through 2023 to “operate a purported news website for the local Chinese American community,” while receiving and executing directives from the PRC government to “post pro-PRC content,” the release said. He also worked as a campaign advisor for Individual 1, who was running for a city council seat in an undisclosed city. The person was elected to the city council in November 2022.
Wang commented on her relationship with Sun during a council meeting in December 2022.
“To my fiancé, Mike Sun, who walked streets with me every single day, who is a real leader of me,” Wang said.
