A Canadian junior hockey team's pockets are thousands of dollars lighter after one of the team's scouts got into trouble during an interview at the league’s draft.
The problem? Telling a reporter she was good-looking.

I was asked by a cute, younger local news reporter to let her follow me around a something I did, one day. She had her television camera man there.
I told her she was cute and I’d live to have them follow me around.
She seemed embarrassed, but happily complimented. She was probably just five foot tall, which shocked me, as I never expected that from watching her. Of course, they position the cameras low to meet their faces, but I’d never thought she was that short.

Yeah, she's a good-looking girl, and if she is a red-blooded Canadian she appreciated the compliment. Her appearance help her earn the job. The guy's 85 years old. His eyes are still functioning. Strom Thurmond said stuff like that all the time. 99+% of the time these are grandfatherly types who have learned to appreciate feminine beauty, and not primarily in a sexual way. (the old pervert in "Chinatown" is not the norm)

The world has gone insane.
So happy to have lived during the decades when a compliment was a good thing instead of a violation of human rights. When I got a wolf whistle, or someone told me “You’ve got a great set of pegs”, I just smiled.
