WHO WAS CURTIS HIXON?
Curtis Hixon (1891–1956) was the 45th mayor of Tampa, serving from 1943 until his death in office. A former pharmacist and county commissioner,
Hixon remains the longest-serving mayor in Tampa history and is well known for his massive electoral popularity and civic development initiatives.
Hixon was born in Alabama, moved to Tampa in 1914 and successfully ran a local pharmacy on Franklin Street before entering public service.
Before becoming mayor, he served on the Tampa City Council and the Hillsborough County Commission. He won his first mayoral election in 1943
by the largest majority in the city’s history and successfully defended his seat for four consecutive terms.
Because of his deep impact on Tampa, several major civic spaces have carried his name:
1. Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park: A vibrant 8-acre park located in the heart of downtown Tampa along the Hillsborough River.
It currently hosts major events, festivals, and community gatherings.
2. Curtis Hixon Hall: Named in his honor, this 62,000-square-foot convention hall and concert arena opened in 1965. It hosted legendary musical acts
including Led Zeppelin, Santana, and the Jackson Five) before it was ultimately demolished in 1993 to make way for the modern riverfront park.

FERAL - DEFINITION:
Feral describes an animal or plant that lives in the wild but is descended from domesticated ancestors.
Unlike wild species, feral organisms have reverted to a untamed state, often characterized by savagery, ferocity, and a lack of socialization.
Originating from the Latin fera (”wild beast”), it specifically refers to “running wild” or having reverted from domestication.
Feral animals are typically unsocialized, fearful of humans, and likely to behave aggressively if cornered.
Feral species can heavily disrupt local systems, acting as invasive species, threatening indigenous life forms and causing die out and extinctions.
While primarily biological, “feral” is sometimes used colloquially to describe children or people acting wild, rambunctious, or untamed.
If the description fits, it must be its!
The continuing mystery of seeing the ages of feral thugs but never what they look like.
Good for the Tampa PD, as long as there are consequences.
Many police departments put them on a bus for home, no arrests made, no charges.
Hope the DA does his job..
“…Officers seized… one vehicle…”
Any reason they didn’t seize all vehicles?
Motor cycle punks in NYC tried this swarming and terrorizing crap and the cops seized all of their motorcycles. When they had a full size drop off dumpster full they dumped it and ran the bikes over with bulldozers.
Just Friday rush hour I saw two crotch rockets booming past solid 5mph traffic on 495 at something like 60 mph. Twenty minutes later they were already on cop trailers and the drivers were calling their ride. The cops were NYPD motorcycle officers. I don’t know where those guys hide on 495 in Queens but whenever motorcycles are in violation they appear. They’re BIG dudes with slightly different uniforms.
