The president of an Ivy League university has been accused of backing his car into a student and running over a second student's foot following an on-campus debate.
The students involved in the debacle had attended a debate between supporters of Israel and backers of the Palestinian cause at Cornell University on Thursday night.
After the event, the two followed University President Michael Kotlikoff to his car and grilled him about free speech on campus, the Cornell Sun reports.
Aiden Vallecillo, a member of Students for a Democratic Cornell, explained that he and three other members of the student-run group had not expected Kotlikoff to attend the debate.
The event featured author and political scientist Norman Finkelstein. Kotlikoff gave an opening statement.
'We decided to converse with Kotlikoff after Finkelstein - as well as a number of student debaters and Kotlikoff, himself - encouraged the proliferation of free speech on campus,' Vallecillo recounted.
He said they were objecting to the university's suspension of student demonstrators and measures they said stifle free speech on campus.
But in an email to students on Friday, the university president alleged that students and non-students 'loudly shouted' questions at him and refused to stop recording.
The students refute that claim.

That little weenie’s foot was not run over. You could tell he was faking it just by the tone of his voice; he was practically laughing.
The kid provoked it - CLEARLY. Greg’s guest was a Law professor at the university. He said the antisemite group gave the President a certain type of dilemma (can’t recall the exact phrase) where the President had n good option.
Friggin’ “colleges” and “universities” are nothing but zoos where wild animals go to live, fight and eat one another. Jungles for knuckledraggers carrying worthless diplomas.

meh- have had front of foot run over twice and back of heel believe it or not once- no big deal! (Was leaned against a car talkin to friend and a hothead came wheeling in to parking spot next to where i was standin and ran over my heel. I yelled, he jumped out screamin at me, threatenin to punch me and i said “Whatever- it was you that ran over my foot” - he became a good friend after realizin it lol)
No big deal- didnt break anything in any of them fortunately- and one was a 1948 powerwagon!

Yep- the kid is also a drama queen and a bunch of drama queens were backing him up it seems. Kids that age dramatize EVERYTHING- (Liberals of ANY age also do- they never grow up)

Sad but true- it sure aint what it used to be- Kids for the most part wouldn’t have dishonored their families like they do today- (Though there has always been a ‘rebel crowd’ but they were far more subdued than today’s ferals in schools)
Plus, it’s Cornell.
My cousin moved there in the ‘70s. Was a staunch conservative like the rest of us. About 10 years ago at a family reunion he’s was critical of the 2A. He had a young adult Sunday School class, made up mostly of students from the two colleges there. Seems that they influenced him more than the other away around.
