Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort in recent months may have noticed new facial recognition technology at the entrances to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, though guests don’t have to use the system if they choose not to, according to company guidelines.
Disney says the technology is designed to streamline guest entry. The system captures an image of a guest’s face at the gate and compares it to the image taken when the ticket or pass was first used. Both images are converted into numerical values to verify a match.

Traditional entrance lanes remain available. Guests who opt out of using the new tech can enter through the parks’ main entrances along the Esplanade, where cast members manually validate tickets, according to the company website.
Disney notes that images may still be taken in these lanes, but biometric processing will not occur.

They can ‘Opt Out’ of they want to, but very likely, their face and features will be captured and downloaded into the Disney Software anyway.
“I’m sorry. We have no control of the Software!”
Once something like that is available and easy to use, it’s very hard not to go ahead and use it. Same as police taking pics of license plates as the cars whiz by. It’s a calculated risk that the driver decides to take.
“Disneyland guests can opt out of facial recognition at park entrances”
You wanna opt out of facial recognition? Ok, get in that other line and get your photo taken....
US Customs does this in Tampa when we return on a cruise ship. Very painless. Only works for those with passports thou.
I get it, but in the land of pedophiles, I’m sure the pedophiles will forgo this entrance non-requirement.
So how do the cameras know to opt them out unless they facial scan them?
Exactly.
Apparently that data is shared around the world. When I traveled to Europe recently, I boarded planes without ID or boarding pass. They identified you as you boarded by facial recognition. When I returned home, I opted into TSA touchless, as obviously they already have my biometrics. And there are already several private companies scraping facial recognition IDs from numerous sources, and almost everyone has been swept up already. At this point, privacy is a fantasy.
This is Disney serving up their little customers to slimy humans on a silver platter.
The pedophiles will hire hackers to infiltrate the database, which likely has the home/mailing address of their kids and their parents.
yeah right, no you cannot they just will not use that tech to approve you for your being taken for a ride.
I have no doubt that they will still collect and sell your info.
End times ping.
Can I wear my Mickey Mask with ears?
