TBH I know almost nothing about this guy but thought others would be interested.

Different source
Spring of ‘74 Duke U, a carload drove down from Louisburg NC.
Great show. Mason was the vocal and strummer, his lead guitarist was tearing it up on a stratocaster.
The campus was beautiful. We went back later to watch the streeker scene unfold before our very eyes.
Gardnerville, NV - I used to live there! Like 35 years ago.
I wonder where his home was.
1974-Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. I had a 7th row seat. He looked old then. Still in his 2o’s? I doubt it.
One of my favorites.
Understood, and an additional source could be added in a comment to the earlier post. Otherwise, would could have dozens of posts about the same event, all citing different sources.
I’m a huge Traffic fan. I wasn’t all that fond of Dave’s solo work but his Dave Mason is Alive album was one of my favorites in the ‘70s. RIP Dave.
Mason, Clapton, Page, Beck, Blackmore, ....so much talent.....
He’s feeling alright now. RIP.
We Just Disagree is an excellent song.
Same! That’s the only one. “There ain’t no good guy. There ain’t no bad guy. There’s only you and me and we just disagree”.
He spoke the truth there.
I saw him twice and was impressed both times. He was an extraordinary musician, played 12 string acoustic with Hendrix on “All Along The Watchtower” among many other greats he played with. Too bad he and Winwood never patched things up, at least not that I know of.
1981 Elk Horn Saloon Ketchum Idaho. He and another played an acoustic show...very quaint ...maybe 150-200 patrons. Afterwards when the crowd began to leave we remained for more drinks and eats. Dave approached our table and politely asked to join us....we must have looked non-threatening. We had a good time. The kitchen kept the food and drinks coming!
Dave Mason, Alone Together, 1970 with Delaney and Bonnie and Duane Allman, others is a great album
Great musician. Great performer. He is missed.
“Too bad he and Winwood never patched things up”
And old story with musicians isn’t it?
Many seem to be unbelievably immature.
Back in the day, as a recording engineer, my wife’s dad was involved with The Eagles for a time.....the stories he shared with my wife about their childish temper tantrums was astonishing.
Worst I ever saw was a documentary about the metal band Metallica......what a bunch of freakin’ entitled babies. SMH
Have both these albums.................
