A Democrat running for Florida governor allegedly attacked two elderly people, believed to be his parents, during a domestic dispute on Friday — and bizarrely accused the victims of being “on fentanyl” and trying to kill him during his whirlwind arrest.
Kevin Cichowski, 46, allegedly beat one victim with a cane and chucked a cellphone at the other inside a riverside home in Palm County, Florida on Friday, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
Police did not confirm Cichowski’s relation to the victims, but described the altercation as domestic in nature. The gubernatorial candidate also made repeated nonsensical accusations against his parents during his arrest, according to body camera footage obtained by The Post.
One officer guided a disoriented Cichowski away from the residence and down the street, which was lined with at least a dozen emergency vehicles, the video shows.
“You sent the whole force here, huh?” Cichowski said.
Before police responded to the purported domestic dispute, one victim warned 911 operators that Cichowski threatened to kill them and any law enforcement who intervened, according to the sheriff’s office.
During the slow walk away from the scene, Cichowski rambled on about his parents, claiming, “my mother’s on fentanyl” and that both his parents “are going through a mental problem,” according to the officer’s body camera.
The officer did his best to placate Cichowski, assuring him that they would investigate the situation.
