Eric Swalwell’s Staff “Horrified” By Sexual Misconduct Accusations, Explain Why They Can’t Quit
US Magazine ^ | 4/11/26 | Justin Harp

Congressman Eric Swalwell’s senior staff have said they are “horrified” by sexual misconduct allegations made against him.

“As leaders of teams working for Eric Swalwell, we’re horrified by the recent reporting in the San Francisco Chronicle and by CNN,” a statement signed by staffers for Swalwell’s 14th congressional district and the “Eric Swalwell for Governor 2026” campaign read on Saturday, April 11. “We stand with our former colleague, and the other women who have come forward. We believe you should stand with them, too.”

His staff went on, “The behavior detailed in these reports is abhorrent, beneath the dignity of those serving in public office and betrays the trust of all Californians.”

Despite their condemnation of the Democratic representative, his staffers addressed why they cannot necessarily quit their jobs at this time.

“We also understand that we lead teams who need guidance and stability now, more than ever. We are focused on supporting our colleagues during this challenging time,” they said in a joint statement. “Any decision of staff members to remain in their roles in the interim should not be viewed as support for Eric Swalwell. We recognize that not everyone — in particular our junior staff — can immediately forfeit their income and benefits without significant personal risk or consequence. Our responsibility now is to them.”

They’re so horrified, they still stand with their former boss, and will gladly accept the paycheck he provides them. Got it.

Because money is more important to Democrats than morality and ethics. Yep, soooooo typical.

The idea they are now saying the quiet part out loud should be shocking, but sadly it isn’t.

“not everyone ... can immediately forfeit their income and benefits without significant personal risk or consequence.”

I’ve read about people pledging “our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor” for their country.

Can you imagine being Swalwell's press officer, issuing some new statements for Swalwell's gubernatorial campaign?

"Alleged rapist and serial sexual abuser Eric Swalwell is committed to revitalizing California's economy and stimulating its recovery.

As Governor of the Great State of California, he vows to strengthen its standing - even if he has been accused of using horse tranquilizers to render his victims unconscious before committing unspeakable acts upon them!

We hope that you'll vote for Eric Swalwell as Governor - and that a jury of his peers votes to acquit him of these heinous crimes which he has been credibly accused of!"

They said, “We stand with our former colleague (not Swalwell), and the other women who have come forward.”

I think this accusation of sexual assault - that what I think this is - is exrtremely telling. During the Virginia race, it came out that the guy running for Attorney General of the state advocated for the death of his opponents children in front of the mother and for the death of police officers. Yet not one Democrat called for that guy to drop out of the race.

Here's what I think - California is safely in the bag for the Democrats. Even if by some stroke of a Godly miracle that a Republican wins the Governorship - please don't laugh - the Dems control nearly every aspect of California that they can afford to appear magnanimous and call for Swawell to step aside. The Dems wanted Virginia badly and were not going to let a little thing as advocating for the death of children to stand in their way. What is the death of two more children when they have fought for women to murder millions of babies in the womb.

I worked for Rep Lawrence J Smith. I knew weird, hinkie stuff was going on, but I didn’t know what. I bolted. I was getting married and I didn’t want to get caught in it.

Not long after I left he was caught up in the house banking scandal and had been using campaign funds to gamble in the Bahamas. He went to Club Fed.

I knew about shady people making shady donations. Organized crime figures gave him a car to drive whenever he was in town. He used his office to get his old law firm business. There was more.

The staff always knows.

I think he makes a great candidate. Perfect actually.

Conservatives being stupid and helping the democrats stop the leftist vote splitting that would actually help someone more conservative win.

Shut up. Support Swalwell.

““not everyone ... can immediately forfeit their income and benefits without significant personal risk or consequence.””

In my entire career, I lived at a fraction of my potential. Not one new car. A house that was well within my means. I scrimped and saved and brought my lunch most days. Because, if, one day I was ordered to do something that was illegal or unethical, I could just walk out the door. Occasionally, those circumstances did arise, but because I could walk out the door, they didn’t happen to me.

That’s been us, too. It’s always good to ensure that you’ve stashed gobs and gobs of FU money ... “just in case”. It’s an amazing feeling of freedom.

“No, not that horrified”
