WRITER: Thomas Massie is the new Ron Paul

@SKMorefield

Thomas Massie is the new Ron Paul, except even more dangerous because he's younger and more articulate & likable than Paul was in his heyday (no disrespect to Paul). That's why the system hates him so much and is doing everything it can to sideline him. If he runs for president, he might just have a shot given where we will be as a country in 2028. If he does, it'll likely be our last chance to save the country before it goes over the brink.

Wow. That's a huge compliment (as far as I'm concerned).

Maybe Massie should run in '28 but doubt it if his good friend Rand runs. Maybe Rand should leave it to Massie (stand down). I could totally get that...

You’re delusional if you think Ron/Rand/Massie will win any primaries, any states, or any national elections.

When you won’t even take your home state in a primary, you have gone full on Crazy Liz.

Then Massie needs to pick up where Ron Paul left off; demand that the Federal Reserve and the Fort Knox gold inventory be audited!

Massie I think has broader appeal

He’s currently favourite to win the most expensive primary in the US and in history for that matter.

If he does that against the odds he will be talked about for ‘28.

Puts Rand in a bind. Both will not run.

Always liked Ron Paul.
Was the “canary in the coal mine” regarding many issues.
Unfortunately, we ignored the warnings.
And now, suffer the consequences.

Randfan does’t live in Massie’s district. He’s not even an American. He is a foreigner from the UK. His opinion of Rand carries about the same weight as that of the ayatollah— none.

A foreigner who doesn’t live in America, doesn’t have anything to do with America and of course has never voted here, signs up here with a screen name that sounds American, and with no other signs that he is anything but American, and post threads all day to change freerepublic into an anti-Trump Ron Paul site.

Weird stuff, and you say that you don’t bother to vote in your own country, yet your life is devoted to changing FR, very, very, creepy.

Massie was a hero during Biden. His approach hasn’t changed. But his target has.

Massie certainly has some broad appeal, but if he runs for President I predict that he will make Jeb Bush’s 2016 campaign look like a historic success.

I lean libertarian. The reality is that most voters do not. To win, the libertarians need to work in coalitions with others who agree with them on some (but not all) issues. MAGA and Republican Party are such coalitions.

I see the US sinking due to the national debt and the way the massive Federal SWAMP is sucking up our money and controlling us.

Thus I seek coalitions with those who want to kill the US Dept of Ed. Whether State government or private organizations take up Education is not for the Federal government to say.

I seek a bigger role for DOGE. There is massive WASTE FRAUD ABUSE in the Federal government and its money. The biggest money and biggest waste is in HHS so I start there. It happens I have some expertise in Medicaid and have seen where the money goes.

I favor the elimination of any Federal agency that is possible. For example. The USPS is constitutional. It had a role and reason to exist 250 years ago. US Mail is now best handled by the private sector.

I see BIG GOVERNMENT micro-managing immigration as a problem. The sole reason for the government to know who is entering the US is to prevent the entry, and deport, murderers, rapists...DUI Drivers, Drunk n Disorderly. I don’t want money spent harrassing immigrants who work hard, take care of their family, don’t ask for welfare, and sit beside me in church.

I am willing to be in coalitions with both “No foreign entanglement” Republicans and “Help our overseas friends” Republicans.
