...I was born and raised in truly Upstate New York - not Hillary Clinton’s version of “upstate”... left there in the very early 70s and never looked back...summers up there were great...an 89 degree summer day was a heat wave; winters were never-ending miserable months...all I can say is if you can leave New York by any means, do so...It breaks my heart to see how my native state has become such a s**thole....live now in Texas and it is literally worlds apart from today’s Peoples Democratic Republic of New York
Sorry you had to live there all those years. I never did, but lived for awhile in S. Calif. when it really was a good place to live;not like now & then we moved to a smaller Midwest area , along ways even from Iowa & now don’t have all the big city problems. Guess I & a good part of my family have just been very fortunate.
My family from Brooklyn thought that Poughkeepsie was upstate. My wife from Rochester knows better, but even she speaks in awe of the severity of winters in Buffalo and truly upstate in the Adirondacks.
