"For decades, reintroducing grizzlies to California seemed unrealistic. Now, California lawmakers are considering a plan that could relocate Yellowstone grizzlies there. One skeptic says, "I don’t think it’s feasible. There’s 40 million people in California."

BTW, you just stepped off a cliff. :-)
That’s all California needs!
This is a great idea! Modern women prefer bears to men so this will surely be embraced enthusiastically!
Someone will be ahead of the game by 20 years and introduce Piranha to the lakes and ponds. Not a good idea, but someone will. Someone introduced Giant Hog Weed in our county. Very dangerous. The sap will scar and blind people. The flower heads are two feet across. I think they are all gone at this time.
I read an article a day or so ago (which, of course, I can’t find) talking about this. The author said it’s a kind of a land grab. Introduce Yellowstone Grizzlies, and, Oh Look! There aren’t many of them, so they are endangered. That will halt all growth and the Center for Diabolical Perversity will be very happy.
“ hire experts to bring them back to restart the deadly struggle.”
I suggest starting with Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, and a large population to be released near San Francisco.
These areas provide a perfect location for reintroduction of the Grizzly bear. Plenty of food options.
Just wait till after I’ve climbed Mt. Whitney. After that, I won’t give a crap, bears of any species can do it in the woods. {/Sarc.}
How about reintroducing them to urban areas? They were there too before people moved in. /s.
It’s usually liberals voting these things in that they don’t suffer the consequences from.
Especially since most Grizzlies in California originally lived in the Central Valley. Shoulld make hiking the John Muir Trail quite interesting. I live near Mammoth, your grandfather had a cabin near the Tamarack Lodge?
Imagine grizzlies in Altadena, Calif. by Los Angeles.
So instead of a black bear under your house it is a grizzly.

#48 CRUNCH!!!
Yes. His cabin was in the group of cabins on the first Twin Lake near the great waterfalls coming down from Lake Mamie. It was a shack, but it was a fun place to vacation. There was a trail that we would hike through the Tule Bushes to the waterfall. He had two row boats that he put on the lake every summer. One was a salvaged boat that he called Salvy, and the other boat was made from the wood of the Spruce Goose, it was light wood colored, he called it Putsy, and it was the “fastest” row boat on the lake.
Very interesting, now I know what cabins you were talking about, the Spruce Goose wood boat is amazing!
