Six reported Bigfoot sightings in northeast Ohio within four days spark cryptid 'flap' speculation

A series of social media posts from a cryptid-focused podcast has ignited speculation about widespread Bigfoot sightings in northeast Ohio, with enthusiasts pointing to what they describe as a concentrated burst of activity.

The Bigfoot Society, a podcast and online community dedicated to collecting eyewitness accounts of Sasquatch encounters, says it had received six separate reports between March 6 and March 10 in wooded areas near Mantua and Garrettsville, southeast of Cleveland.

The group has described the cluster as a possible "flap," a term used in cryptozoology for multiple sightings within a short time span.

"It’s normal for there to be Bigfoot sightings all over the United States, but it’s not normal to have multiple sightings in a small area within a short number of days," Jeremiah Byron, host of the Bigfoot Society Podcast, told Fox 8.

...

"So, if you're in this area, keep your eyes open and maybe your doors locked because there could be a Bigfoot in the same general vicinity." said one poster in the group, which has 282,000 members.

According to a flurry of recent posts in the group, several Bigfoot hunters claimed to have "locked eyes with a nine-foot-tall, brown-haired Sasquatch."

My guess is that they're showing up for either a family reunion or a convention........I could be wrong tho.

Of all cryptids, the idea of a leftover species, smarter than an ape - smart enough to avoid humans as much as possible - but dumber than a Somalian - no Learing Centers - seems the most conceivable. Not real, but at least remotely possible.

I've never seen one that I couldn't dismiss as a childhood dream state, but I've known folks who insist they have seen one here in New England. Credible men and otherwise...

Are we sure it isn’t Rosie trying to sneak back in again?

Smart enough to abscond with some 9 billion dollars that we will never get back.

On the other hand, perhaps Sasquatch are just more ethical than Muzzgoblins.

My niece, a very intelligent, no-nonsense woman has seen several in her rural area of Pennsylvania. She says their odor is strong and unpleasant.

Just to clarify, we're talking about Bigfoot, or muzzards?

I saw a Bigfoot last time I went to Cleveland Clinic.
He asked me if I had spare change. He stunk pretty bad.

"Flap" also refers to outbreaks of UFO sightings.

Ohio, IIRC, has a 4 day Bigfoot festival in August every year.

It’s a money spinner.

This may be to gin up interest.

One thing I never hear about being discussed about bigfoot is their diet. I mean a 9 foot creature weighing in around 300-400 pounds would have to have a big daily calorie intake to maintain that weight. So, has anyone heard what their diet consist of?

My neck of the woods. Took the wife out Bigfoot hunting (by car of course) yesterday. No luck, but it was fun to get off the couch for a few hours.

My thought as well. There’s also an outdoor treasure hunt going on like a county over. But I’m not sure there are “tourism boards” in that area. If there are, likely not that clever.

Also all of the recreational amenities are still closed out there. Not much boating, rentals, camping, hiking yet. I’d think if they’re trying to gin up interest, they’d wait until those sorts of things opened for the season. We’re still just cracking out of our winter shell.
