Cornyn's Defeat Would Remove Him From Judiciary Committee

Posted on 03/05/2026 2:30:49 AM PST by cotton1706

One of the reasons Thune, McConnell, etc. want to protect Cornyn and get him reelected is so they can pass the Senate Judiciary gavel to him.

So they can continue to thwart conservatism and prevent conservatives in executive legal positions.

Grassley has been thwarting US attorney nominees with the blue slip nonsense, Tillis stopped Ed Martin and had to be dragged kicking and screaming to support Bondi.

Cornyn gone from the committee opens up Mike Lee as chair.

With both Cornyn and Tillis gone, and Grassley almost dead, Lindsay Graham will be the only pantywaist left.

Cornyn MUST be defeated in May!

I hope Trump does not make the IMO tactical mistake of thinking he has to appease the RINO wing of the party and Speaker Thune by endorsing a corrupt backstabbing RINO like Cornyn. Regardless of whomever Trump endorses, the duty of the voters is clear. Vote for Paxton. Get rid of Cornyn.

Same goes in South Carolina. Ignore Trump’s endorsement. Get rid of Lindsey Graham.

The vote for Thune was anonymous. Obviously John Cornyn is one of the ones who voted for Thune. What a disappointment this backstabbing SOB is ! No recess called so no recess appointments. No effort to pass the Save Act. Probably a bunch of other things that just add to all the problems with this guy.

I’m praying Trump doesn’t endorse the traitor Cornholio. He stabbed Trump in the back after the left impeached him twice and was going after him in NY and Cornholio ran over Trump with a bus saying Trumps time has passed and it’s time to move on from him. WTF? Cornholio is the same age as Trump and looks 20 years older.

Get RID OF THEM ALL! Every last one of them!
The mere fact that they will not release the names of those who WE thr taxpayers paid off with their Diddling Deflection fund makes me absolutely FURIOUS (along with many other things.)
We are approaching $39 TRILLION DOLLARS in debt. That is apoplectic! That is TREASON!

I predict that if Trump were to endorse Paxton, that Cornyn would not drop out, but force the May run off election to force Paxtion to waste resources that could be used against this Socialists.

I would not even be surprised if old Dubya pops up to support Cornyn in such an effort. Remember the Bush league and GOPE Republicans hate Trump and conservatives and they will try to undermine him as much as possible in the mid-terms.

Trump doesn’t have to worry about the Democrats in the mid-terms as much as the enemies within.

I’m in NM but my ranch spills over to TX.

Every Texan seems to have a Cornyn story and none of them are flattering.

They [the senate leadership] hjave spent 60 - 80 million on defending Cornyn

It’s unbelievable the resources they have poured into this

Defund the fed, make public office the servitude position that it is suppose to be, pro bono, no lawyers allowed.

Let’s see. If Trump supports one and tells the other to quit it would save a lot of money leading up to the runoff. It’s s something that could be done had Hunt dropped out after ‘proving his point’, whatever it was.

Scenario: He supports Cornyn and replaces Bondi with Paxton.
Next Hunt gets appointed to the Ted Cruz seat this summer after Cruz gets a SCOTUS appointment.

Alternative-Trump supports Paxton and lets the chips fall where they may. Want imagine losing to that fake choir boy.

Paxton gets our votes no matter what the president says.

Think this a little more nuanced. Admit it that Paxton has some baggage. And with Crockett defeat the Dems have semi-viable candidate. I’ll support Trump’s decision / endorsement

I will support President Trump’s decision also. As I said on another thread there are alot of variable going into a long expensive run off.

The dem candidate has said alot of goofy things that wouldnt sit well with average Texans. But the media has circled their wagons and keep mentioning how “fresh” “wonderful” he is. A “rising star”.

Whoever ends up the nominee, sounds like they got a tough battle ahead.

As much as I despise the procedure, my wife and I are applying for absentee ballots for the runoff. That’s two Paxton votes in the box.

Yes, that’s the Establishment thinking.

And I’ve been watching this stuff for years. And I noticed that the incumbent is ALWAYS somehow more “electable”

And you know why that is? Because they will move both heaven and earth to get their preferred incumbent reelected, but if a Republican challenger takes out an incumbent, then they leave them out to dry. And there’s not the same fervor to elect the Republican. In fact, there’s more an inclination to let the successful challenger lose, since it removes a problem.

So I don’t fall for the “baggage” nonsense. Cornyn has TONS of baggage (liberal voting record, backstabbing, pantywaistery when solid conservatism was needed, helping Murkowski get reelected, etc.).

We should all be emailing the Whitehouse making it clear that MAGA wants Cornyn gone.

Think this a little more nuanced.

Yeah, because a large majority of Texans support letting men in dresses be surgically implanted with babies so that those same trannies can then murder the babies via abortion.

No way Paxton can beat a candidate that supports the aforementioned. No way!

Defund the fed

Too late. According to Catherine Austin Fitts, the Treasury has already been 'sacked' to the tune of $73 Trillion by ignoring audits on Congressional disbursals over a decade.
